Glam Polish Got The Blues Trio Swatches & Review

Hey folks! Back again today with another awesome set from Glam Polish! I am falling into a deep, deep love with this brand. They have stolen my colorful heart! This limited edition release is called the Got The Blues trio, it has three beautiful new polishes that seem like brothers to the Think Pink trio I reviewed in June. Let's take a look!

First we have Ice Palace, a combination of sapphire, ocean, turquoise, sky blue and silver holographic glitter in a holographic base with glass flecks and bright blue shimmer. This is a major SWOON for me, so gorgeous and frozen-esque! A bit thicker due to all the glitter, but not difficult to use. This is two coats and a thick top coat.
Glam Polish Ice Palace

Paradise is an aqua blue linear holographic shade with turquoise glass flecks and blue/green flakies. This was a breeze to apply, so smooth. This type of color can end up staining, so double up on the base coat just in case. The flakies are more apparent in lower light, they add the perfect amount of contrast to the base. I just love it.
Glam Polish Paradise

And last is Storm, an indigo blue ultra holographic with violet and indigo glass flecks. Another super easy to use formula, this is two coats. Blue holos might be my favorite kind and this is just such a winner!
Glam Polish Storm

These will go on sale August 1st at 1 pm EST (USA) on the Glam Polish website for $11 each. They ship to Australia, the US and France from that site. If you are in a different country, be sure to check out their list of international stockists. Are you a blue polish kinda person? Tell me what you think of this trio!

Fortune Cookie Soap Fall 2015 Soap Box Subscription Review - Old Hollywood

Hi friends! Today I have the awesome new Fortune Cookie Soap subscription box for Fall 2015 to share with you! The theme is Old Hollywood, which is super awesome. I have always loved vintage Hollywood glam style!

This quarterly subscription box contains sample sizes of bath and body products in the different scents that will be available during their big collection launch near the end of August. It's a fun way to try out the new scents before you can buy them in all the products. Let's get to sniffing shall we?
I left this big so you can read it, just click to enlarge!

First is the Fortune Cookie Soap in the scent Dressed to Kill - "Dribbles of mulled, red wine, swirled with dark, rich vanilla and cut apples, and a dusting of spice." This scent is very fall-like, a little heavy on the wine for me but I'm sure it will be well received by most. Their cookies are always cute, I like to use them as hand soap on my sink. My fortune read: "Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me, aren't you?" - The Graduate 1967.
Fortune Cookie Soap - Dressed to Kill

Next is the OCD Hand Sanitizer in the scent Glitz & Glamour - "Wet moss, polished woods, creamy vanilla." This is epic-ly good. It smells just kinda like alcohol sanitizer at first, but when you put it on it dries down so you can smell the soft woods and lots of vanilla. I adore it! It is a great scent carrier, I think their hand sanitizer leaves scent on my skin the strongest and for the longest time. This one has little bits of gold mica in it but it doesn't really show up on the skin, which in my opinion is a good thing.
Fortune Cookie Soap OCD Hand Sanitizer - Glitz & Glamour

The Whipped Cream (whipped body lotion) scent is called Tommy Guns & Baseball Bats - "Grandma's hot apple pie, dusted with freshly shaved cinnamon, nutmeg and warm brown sugar, topped with rich, creamy marshmallow fluff." This is so good. Seriously, I want to eat this stuff. The marshmallow is most prevalent to me, but I get the brown sugar a lot too. The FCS whipped cream is a holy grail product in general for me, it's my favorite lotion of all time.
Fortune Cookie Soap Whipped Cream - Tommy Guns & Baseball Bats

Scandal is the scent of the Bath Powder - "Creaking woods, wind blown leaves, and twisted rose thorns. Add entire bag to bath...enjoy" This stuff is also amazing, it reminds me a lot of the Leaves scent from Bath & Body Works without so much apple. I am excited to try this stuff on a chilly day when I can take a nice long, relaxing bath. And I definitely need to get this scent in a whipped cream!
Fortune Cookie Soap Bath Powder - Scandal

Another winner is Pearls & Girls in a Perfume Oil, which comes in a little decorative purse spray container - "Crushed and distilled vanilla creeping with wild jasmine and a splash of juicy pear." I love how the scent notes in this combine to a perfect feminine, light but sexy aroma. The pear is heavy at first and the jasmine and vanilla show up more on dry down. I am a big fan of the purse spray bottle! So cute and no leaks!
Fortune Cookie Soap Perfume Oil - Pearls & Girls

They are giving us a solid Shampoo Bar in the scent Hollywood Dreams in this box - "Brown sugar dusted graham crackers, fresh churned apple butter, sprinkled with nuts and a hint of maple." I have temperamental curly hair so I don't use products with silicones or sulfates, but I almost wish I did because this smells sooo good! It's really just like a spicy and sweet fall dessert, yum. I know lots of people swear by the FCS solid shampoo, so if you're looking to try one definitely give this one a whirl.
Fortune Cookie Soap Shampoo Bar - Hollywood Dreams

A new product from FCS is a hair pomade in the scent American Royalty - "Rose milk, thick honey and warming tobacco blossom wrapped with caramel and notes of mandarin." I've never used a pomade but I am interested in learning how to use one now haha! This has a lavish, decadent bouquet that screams luxury. I need it in a perfume oil for sure, because I'm a baller and this smells like RICH.
Fortune Cookie Soap Pomade - American Royalty

I've recently gotten really into melting wax tarts so I'm glad we got one in this box! It's in the scent Famous - "Warm amber, wild orchid, fluttering white cotton, sundried herbs." This is such a cute little guy! I could do without the glitter, but it's really adorable. This smells quite sweet, not what I was expecting, reminds me of wintery candy kind of. I'm excited to melt it and get the full scent experience!
Fortune Cookie Soap Wax Tart - Famous

As of right now the subscription is still available to purchase on their website, but they sell out quickly so be sure to go sign up! It is $19.99 every 3-months for the US, Canadian and International subscriptions are a little more with shipping. A huge bonus is with every box, they give you a free $10 off code to use on their site later, so it really costs half as much!

A special treat if you are ordering for the first time, you can get $5 off a minimum order of $30 using my referral link: http://r.sloyalty.com/r/u3Swp30VtTsE. You must using the special coupon code the website shows you to get the $5 off. (I only get points if you use the link, not money. :) )

Glam Polish Under the Sea Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Good morning beautiful! I am so excited to share the upcoming Glam Polish Under the Sea collection with you today! This marine inspired collection has nine new shades and I have six of them to show you. These might be the hit of the entire summer for me, they're just all so amazing!

All of the polishes are holographic crellys with metallic microglitter, glass flecks and multi-dimensional shimmer. They all had the same application for me, slightly thick but easy to use and were opaque in two coats. They dry slightly textured so you'll need one to two coats of glossy topcoat to cover that if you wish.

Are You Sea-rious? is a sea-green with bright teal green glitter.
Glam Polish Are You Sea-rious?

Don’t Play Koi With Me is a light peachy orange with darker peach glitter.
Glam Polish Don't Play Koi With Me

Get Otter Here! is a violet with contrasting indigo glitter.
Glam Polish Get Otter Here!

Mermaid For Me is a blue with contrasting violet glitter.
Glam Polish Mermaid For Me

Not On Porpoise is a light grey with dark grey glitter and grey flecks.
Glam Polish Not On Porpoise

Sealiest Thing I’ve Ever Heard is a baby pink with contrasting purple glitter.
Glam Polish Sealiest Thing I've Ever Heard

The three remaining shades in the collection are I’m Shore You Did - a multicolored holographic microglitter mix in a holo base, Oh Whale! - a periwinkle crelly holo with holo microglitter, shimmer and glass flecks, and Did You Catch That? - an orchid crelly holo, with holo microglitter, shimmer and glass flecks. You can see swatches for those on Glam Polish's Facebook page.

The official release date for the collection is Saturday, August 1st at 1pm EST (USA) on www.glampolish.com.au with shipping to Australia, USA and France. These will all be $11 each. They do have stockists who ship to other countries, the list is here if you're interested. Tell me what you think about this collection! Which shade is your favorite? I'm partial to the grey and purple :D

Takko Lacquer Summer 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

What's up you crazy kids? I'm doing a lot better this week and things are looking up. I'm trying to stay positive and it's helped my stress level for sure. It's nice to blog honestly to keep my mind off other things, so I am thankful to have you as an audience to write for. Today I have the summer collection from Takko Lacquer to show you!

First up is Afternoon Delight, a soft peachy pink coral with green to gold iridescent shimmer. This was a little thick, but not difficult. This is two coats. This is such a "me" shade, I love it!
Takko Lacquer Afternoon Delight

Birthday Suit is a light taupe nude with golden shimmer and delicate holographic throughout the base. Easy to use and opaque in two coats.
Takko Lacquer Birthday Suit

This is Constellations, a navy blue jelly with actual silver flakies. This is more sheer due to the base being a jelly, but I got it opaque in three coats. I would recommend wrapping your tips so you don't see any white free edge. I love the silver flakies in this, very reminiscent of stars in the sky!
Takko Lacquer Constellations

Electric Flamingo is a neon pink with green/orange flakies. I was floored by this, so pretty and it practically painted itself on. Two coats. It's a jelly, so you can see a bit of nail line but I don't think it's enough that you'd need another coat. And in real life you can definitely see the different colors in the flakies, my camera just didn't want to pick that up.
Takko Lacquer Electric Flamingo

Next is El Nopal, a crelly cactus green with green/gold flakies. Another winner, just like Flamingo but in a delicious green and a bit more opaque. So pretty and covers in two coats. Same note on the flakies, they're definitely two-toned in real life.
Takko Lacquer El Nopal

Floridazed is a lush turquoise with pink shimmer. This is one of my favorite color combinations! This guy was a bit thinner than the rest, but two coats ended up being all I needed. It dries very quickly and more matte than the rest. All Takko Lacquers dry matte to satin due to the mineral pigments and Vitamin E they use in their formula so a top coat is a must for a shiny finish.
Takko Lacquer Floridazed

And last we have Xocomil, a periwinkle purple with actual silver dust. I showed you this in my last post with a glitter layered over it. I am in love with periwinkle this year and this one is no exception. So pigmented and rich but still slightly muted, and that shimmer just takes it over the edge for me. Two easy coats. Dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle.
Takko Lacquer Xocomil

This collection and the two new shades I reviewed in my last post will be available on their website for $13 each tonight 7/28 at 8 pm EST (USA). I hear they can sell out quickly so don't hesitate to pick these up if you are interested. What do you think of these pretty takkitos? Thanks for joining me today!

Takko Lacquer New Releases Swatches & Review

Hello and happy Sunday Funday! It is definitely a fun day for me because I'm bringing you two new indie shades from Takko Lacquer! I was pleased as punch when Sheryl the owner of the company asked me if I'd like to review their latest colors and of course said yes please! Takkitos, the nickname for their polishes, are very popular in the nail community and I love being able to share in demand colors with you all!

First is C.R.E.A.M. (Cake Rules Everything Around Me), the polish they made for the 3rd birthday of their brand! Yay for birthdays! This shade is a baby pink crelly with golden shimmer and multicolored matte teeny tiny hex glitters, inspired by pink funfetti cake! It was easy to work with and was opaque in two coats.
Takko Lacquer C.R.E.A.M.

And next is Kitsch, a polish that Sheryl created for the Cosmoprof North America convention that just happened earlier this month in Las Vegas. I wish I could've gone again! (I went one year, it ruled!) This polish has various shades of pink glitters, holographic silver shimmer and holo flakies in a clear base. Once dried it has a pink sugar cotton candy scent, which is so perfect for me! I used one coat over another Takko Lacquer called Xocomil, which I'll be reviewing soon. Kitsch is super easy to apply with great glitter payoff! I love this combo!
Takko Lacquer Kitsch

It's important to note that all Takko Lacquer polishes are 5 free, mineral based, 100% cruelty free and are infused with Vitamin E, so they all dry satin or matte. Both of these dried satiny so I used a shiny top coat.

These will be available at TakkoLacquer.com on July 28th at 8 pm EST for $13 each. I'm really happy with these two shades, and am excited to also be bringing you swatches of their summer collection very soon! Let me know what you think about these two beauties!

Pretty Serious Tux Swatch & Review

Hey there! Today I wanted to show you a returning classic from Pretty Serious Cosmetics. They had a vote on their Facebook page a while ago to see which three retired classic shades should make a comeback and the three winning shades were Tux, Elliott, and Morning Java.

Tux is the shade I was sent for review from the three re-releases. It's a moody blackened teal with shimmer. Ooohhheeee this is a polish with attitude! The shimmer has a slight duochrome to violet at certain angles and it's really beautiful. This is two coats but it was opaque in just one.

Tux and the other returning shades are available now on www.pretty-serious.com for $9.95 AUD each. What do you think of this inky shade? I like throwing on a dark color in the summer to mix it up a bit sometimes :)

Girly Bits and Elevation Polish Bamboozled Duo Swatches & Review

Hey there! I've been having a helluva month, ugh. Lots of real life problemos have been happening lately, but I'm getting through it one day at a time. Most recently my polishing/computer desk decided to bust, basically breaking in half. I have a tiny space right now so it was kind of a big deal, considering my desk was piled high with crap haha. I have a new desk on order but I feel very displaced, ugh. I haven't been able to get posts ready too far in advance, so I hope you'll bear with me while I try to be flexible with my work space haha.

Today I have a special polish duo created with two brands, Girly Bits Cosmetics and Elevation Polish. They call it the Bamboozled Duo because it's representing the live green and brown dried state of a bamboo plant. I first saw them on my friend Jenny's blog and decided I had to buy them!

First is Girly Bits BamBoom!, a seriously fabulous glittering green holo with microglitter. It was really easy to apply and I got full opacity in two coats. This could dry with a bit of texture due to the glitter, but I used Seche Vite as my top coat and didn't have any issues. I'm in love with this polish! So spaaarrrkkkklllyyy!
Girly Bits BamBoom!

And this is Elevation Polish Arashiyama, a mid-tone sandy nude with holographic throughout and soft grey metallic shimmer flakes. I was surprised at how opaque this is, two coats and you're good! Another easy formula, it practically applied itself. I think this is so pretty and classic, but with a twist. This is my first Elevation Polish and I'm pretty pleased with it!
Elevation Polish Arashiyama

These polishes are being sold exclusively in the Elevation Polish shop. I purchased the set for $22. The set is limited edition; they will be restocking them today for the last time so don't hesitate to pick them up sooner rather than later! Let me know what you think of these beauties and we'll see you again soon :)

Nail Polish I Wore In Real Life Vol. 4

It's Saturday and I'm feeling great! How are you doing my friends? I've got another few polishes to show you today that I wore as a full manicure in real life! Oooh, aaahh! Imagine that, a nail polish blogger actually wearing nail polish ;)

KBShimmer Make My Gray is from their Spring 2014 collection. It is a pale grey crelly with a mix of glitters in turquoise, coral pink, and gunmetal. I don't know why I always expect these glitter-crelly polishes to be difficult to apply, they almost never are. Maybe because they look so complex I unconsciously imagine that getting this look should take more effort. Anyway, this was easy to apply and opaque in two coats. Tons of glitter. I purchased this from their website for $8.75.
KBShimmer Make My Gray

I can't believe I didn't own China Glaze Sun Of A Peach until now. It's from their Summer 2013 collection Sunsational that I almost completely skipped. It's super popular and is included in China Glaze's core line now. The formula is pretty much awful, it's streaky, patchy and generally a pain in the butt to apply. BUT LOOK! So neon it's impossible to photograph accurately, and just crazy beautiful. This is three difficult coats, but I love it. It also dries matte like a true neon so top coat that shiz! I purchased this from Sally Beauty Supply for around $6.50.
China Glaze Sun Of A Peach

And last is Essie Chillato, from this summer's Peach Side Babe collection . I posted a review on my picks from that collection a while ago and it didn't include this one, but this color just kept calling to me! I needed it. I bought it. I regret nothing! It's a unique green tinged pastel yellow. Essie calls it "pistachio green" but I think it's more of a lemon lime shade. Another difficult formula, very streaky, a little bubbly, and it took three coats to even out. But I adore it and I don't care. I bought this from my local CVS for $8.50.
Essie Chillato

So what do you think of these picks for my recent manicures? If you're interested in this series, you can see my other posts here. Thanks for visiting me today and we'll see you again soon!

Pretty Serious Naileontology Collection Vol. 2 Swatches & Review

Hi folks! I'm back today with the new Pretty Serious Naileontology shades! You can see my post on the first releases here. There are three new shades in the collection, three more relics from a time gone by. This is such a fun and exciting concept for shades and I'm always chomping at the bit looking forward to what Pretty Serious will do next!

Blood of Knossos is a toad-like green metallic shimmer. The formula is really smooth and was opaque in two easy coats. This polish is definitely filling a void in my green polish drawer, and it is so gorgeous!
Pretty Serious Blood of Knossos

Next is Ichi Hanami, a sparkly cherry blossom pink foil. This is slightly thick, which a lot of foils are, but it is opaque in one coat! I did two as usual though. This is really lovely, a true girly shade. The silver bits can get all over upon removal though, so be careful!
Pretty Serious Ichi Hanami

And rounding out the trio is The Crimson Pearl, a sexy dark berry shimmer. The base color is like a deep raspberry grape color with shifty shimmer in violet and blue and sparks of pink. This formula was on the thinner side, so take care not to flood your cuticles. This is three coats.
Pretty Serious The Crimson Pearl

These are available now at www.pretty-serious.com for $9.95 AUD each for an 11 ml bottle. Remember that Pretty Serious has some dope packaging, so these also all come in glossy boxes with their pretty funky artwork. What do you think of the second installment of the Naileontology collection? Any guesses to what long lost polishes these shades could be paying homage to? I can't figure it out this time! Let me know which one is your favorite :)

OPI Nail Envy Strength In Color Collection Swatches & Review

Good day to you my friend! I hope your week is starting out well! Today I have some new products from OPI to show you. They have taken their popular nail treatment Nail Envy and added a twist by giving them color, calling them Strength In Color. This is a great idea for anyone who wants to have a strengthening protective treatment and polish color without an extra step. Let's see what shades they chose!

Bubble Bath is an iconic SoftShade from OPI, a soft delicate milky pink. I have the original version and I enjoy it very much. This is three coats for a more opaque look, but you can stop at two for a more natural take. I didn't use topcoat because it retains shine quite nicely.
OPI Nail Envy Bubble Bath

Next is Hawaiian Orchid, a creamy neutral pink mauve. I love that they chose this shade for inclusion in this collection, it's very popular and so wearable. Great formula, I only needed two coats for full opacity.
OPI Nail Envy Hawaiian Orchid

Pink To Envy is a new 'shade', a slightly pink tinted clear. The original Nail Envy is more milky so I get them wanting to make a clear version of it. You probably can't tell other than the shine, but I've got one coat on here.
OPI Nail Envy Pink To Envy

And last is Samoan Sand, another much favored SoftShade from OPI's core collection. This is a pale sandy beige. I actually can't believe I didn't have the original version of this, it's a great neutral! Three coats here. Dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle.
OPI Nail Envy Samoan Sand

These new Nail Envy Strength In Color shades are available now at places like Ulta, JCPenney Salons and Sally Beauty Supply, retailing for $17.95 in the US and $22.50 in Canada. What do you think of this twist on a nail treatment? Do you use Nail Envy? I know lots of gals who swear by it!

Cirque Colors Vice Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there! I'm back with some swatches, yay! Today I have the Cirque Colors Vice collection to share. It's a six piece collection with five uber bright crèmes and a holographic topper.

First up is C.R.E.A.M., a neon pastel lime crème. This has a great formula, opaque in two coats with minimal streaking, which is not typical of this shade of neon pastel. Excellent!
Cirque Colors C.R.E.A.M.

Lean is a juicy ultra violet jelly crème. This is very vivid in bright light and darker in lower light. I found the consistency on this works the best by using a thin first coat and a thicker second coat for maximum coverage and level-ability. Dries slightly satiny.
Cirque Colors Lean

Next is Miami-Dade, a bright happy cyan blue crème. This is thinner than the other crèmes, could get streaky if you overwork it. It covered for me in two coats but you may need three depending on your application technique.
Cirque Colors Miami-Dade

Nympho is a bright fuchsia pink jelly crème. This messed with my eyes when I wore it, it was a bit subdued indoors but crazy vivid in full sunlight! Photos do not suffice. I used two coats for full opacity, same type of consistency as Lean.
Cirque Colors Nympho

Here we have Vitamin D, a super pretty neon pastel peach crème. Another easy formula, just like C.R.E.A.M. This was hard to capture accurately due to the neon-ness, it looks more pigmented in real life. Two coats!
Cirque Colors Vitamin D

And last is We Trippy, a sparkly linear holographic top coat that can turn any shade into a holo stunner! I layered one coat over Lean.
Cirque Colors We Trippy

Then I decided to see how it looked over the other shades in the collection. This is one coat over each. Très magnifique!
Cirque Colors Vice Collection

You can purchase these on www.cirquecolors.com for $13 each or from one of their stockists. This is a limited edition collection, so snatch them up before they disappear! Tell me what you think about this gathering of striking shades!
