a few diamond cosmetics polishes

ok, so my pictures are getting ridiculously backed up :( i really have fallen behind since the holidays hit around november! but i'm still polishing and taking pictures nearly everyday! so you can imagine how much i have to show you all. you may notice that the pictures in the next few (many) posts, my fingernail length and shape will probably change back and forth. the reason for this is because even though my pictures are numbered when they're transfered to my files, i don't always get them edited in order or i put some here or there or i don't feel like doing this one that day or whatever. so yeah, in case you were wondering :)

i had been wanting more diamond cosmetics polishes since i got a taste of them with the polish bloggers exchange gift i received, i got some of their mattes. so i ordered never so evergreen, chainmail charm, and seafoam green.

never so evergreen is a pretty unique shade, or at least it was until sephora by opi came out with absinthe makes the heart this past winter. oh well!  a darkish mossy swampy color that really does look like it could be found in an evergreen forest :) i do like this polish, but it didn't really grab me like i thought that it would. diamond cosmetic's formula is very nice, with these swatches i didn't have to do any clean up! this is 3 coats.

chainmail charm is a DC favorite of many a polish fiend and of course i loved it! it is a charcoal holographic polish, along the same lines as color club's revolution, opi's my private jet,  or china glaze's let's do it in 3D (albeit this one is way lighter). so...yeah, it's been done. but that doesn't stop me from owning, oh say...all of them?  haha and believe it or not they are all different! not tremendously so, but still :) i loved the different flashes this one has even in low light. 3 coats.

seafoam spray is one i was iffy on but i ended up really liking it. it's a light almost minty green pearl that i was afraid would produce bad brushstrokes, but this one didn't do too bad at all. there is also a nice golden sheen on it which was unexpected. this is 4 coats as it does take a bit to build. oh and please PLEASE excuse the horrid dryness around my fingers, it was from the acetone as i was swatching, but of course i was too busy busy to pay attention and notice that before it took a picture huh.

nyx asphalt

i adore nyx polishes, i don't have enough of them! the bottle shape is divine and the colors are really unique. asphalt is the perfect name for this guy, a black (almost greyish) jelly-like base color with mult-colored & sized glitter pieces. it really does look like asphalt haha, but way better because of the bling! but not too glitzy, a toned-down gal would feel comfortable rockin' this polish right along with us glitter-bombs. understated but totally hawt. this is 3 coats, no topcoat.

p.s. these pics were taken with a crappy camera that i have since returned, but i took a LOT of swatch pictures with. please bare with me as i will try to edit their horribleness to the best of my ability.

the second pic has more lamplight shining on it and you can see more of the jelly-like quality to the base. i la la love this polish! it really reminds me of sephora by opi's 212 but not brown based and smaller (?) glitter pieces. i think i like this one better tho, it's cheaper!

china glaze 5 golden rings

this china glaze glitter polish is from the "i love you snow much" holiday collection 2009. i love gold polishes and this one was no exception. although the name 5 golden rings reminds me of that annoying holiday song, the 12 days of christmas haha. some golds can look a bit chintzy or brassy but this one really glowed with my skintone. it was a dream to apply too, which i thought was pretty awesome for a straight glitter polish. this is 3 thin coats (i think).

the second pic is a bit more light than it is IRL. i think this would be a good layer polish too, it would be pretty over black or a purple or something.
