orly gumdrop

this is the missing final swatch from the sweet collection by orly. you can see lollipop and pixy stix here. gumdrop is a slightly minty green pastel creme with a hint of blue in it. very nice but slightly thick. along the same lines as essie's mint candy apple, but less blue and more opaque. this swatch is three coats. i got a few bubbles on this because of the thickness. i would recommend thinning it a bit. other than that, i really love this polish!

l.a. splash

here are some l.a. splash nail splash polishes that i got at a tiny ghetto store in my mall that i'm a little scared of going into. it's the only place close to me to buy nyx so i do feel like i have to venture in there occasionally to get a shadow or two, but these were something new i'd never seen there. the bottles are pretty small (10 mL) and i got them for $2.99 but the glitters were pretty so i figured why not.

treasure chest is a pretty coral and multi-colored glitter that these (crappy old) pictures don't do justice. the glitter is in a clear base so it would be good for layering. i looked online at their website and at cherryculture.com, and found that treasure chest on there is listed as some sort of metallic taupey color so this may be labeled by mistake or they just changed the color? annoying.

midnight rain is beautiful! it is a dark blue with red glitter in a dark midnight blue base. very pretty and vampy with some sparkle! again, these pictures don't do it justice. and admittedly i haven't done this in a full mani, which is why you're only seeing two fingers swatched--that night i didn't want to clean up a ton of glitter.

this one is called golden moss. a really pretty mossy green with coolish toned bigger golden glitter and micro blueish/greenish glitter. this is two coats with seche vite topcoat. and can you tell these photos are with a better camera? hopefully, because they are.

curiousity

l.a. girl rockstar punk

this polish rocks. and it is literally called so. rockstar! the l.a. girl company puts out little collections in these funky shaped bottles with the collection name on them which i think is way cool. this one called punk is a midnight blue with glass fleck shimmer that also happens to be a duochrome that shows purple on it's angles. yay! love love this guy!

nubar spam

here are some nubar swatches i had lying around :D

nubar pasadena purple, as made famous by the AWFUL movie "he's just not that into you". slightly metallic, basically a dupe for china glaze's coconut kiss. i couldn't help getting brush strokes. didn't like. boo. also it was hard to get accurate coloring in these pictures. purples are hard to photograph, people!
flash, less blue IRL
lamp light, less red IRL
nubar's modern matte collection. their first round punches at mattes. i liked these, even though i didn't think i would. (p.s. i borrowed all of these from a friend)

avant-garde is a dark reddish brownish russet matte. these all spread really easy, kinda like the OPI suede collection although they dry a tad bit faster IMO.
prevail is a dark purple matte.
contempo is a bright tomato red matte, more orangey than pinky like this pic. this one is the only one i had semi trubs with applying.
vital is a plumberry matte that i think was my favorite of the collection. easiest to apply too!
geez can you all believe that may is almost over?? i can't. i'm going to be 24 in less than a month! holy crap i'm getting old!!

seriously hip baby goth girl

uh huuuuh :D i know these MAC polishes were released about forever and a damn day ago with the style black collection, buuut i'm just now getting around to posting my swatches of the gorgeous things.

seriously hip is a SERIOUSLY badass mammajamma polish! *cough* FLAKIES! *cough* OLIVE GREEN! *cough* SHIMMER! what more could a girl want?? well, unfortunately, some of the awesomeness of this polish is lost in most lighting. flash and sunlight really make it look as awesome as it does in the bottle though. so screw it, wear it during the summer i say! gold & reddish shimmer & gold flakes make this varnish soooo unique. it is a must have, so kudos to all of you who were lucky enough to snatch it up when it was available.

baby goth girl has the raddest name for a lacquer that i've ever heard. yup. the coolest. cooler than cool. this is a dark purple polish that has red shimmer and bits of gold flakes (like her sister polish seriously hip). but again, the complexity is blurred/muddied in most lighting as the polish tends to look very dark. i wish this looked as sweet-ass on my nails as it does in the bottle but eh what can ya do? i still rock this polish like a hurricane :D
i'm sure you could track these down somewhere if you really wanted them. but i couldn't imagine letting mine go i really like them that much! hope everyone is having a swell week :) i've been slightly busy, come to think about it...and i've just started embarking on a new healthy lifestyle to lose some excess weight. you know it's not good when you can feel your ass jiggle when you walk. O_o so please pray for me and my poor chubby cheeks haha, ima need it!

china glaze pool party

china glaze pool party is the last polish i have to show you from the poolside collection. it is PINK baby! neon pink in all her glory! i wore this as a pedicure color for two straight weeks and got tons of compliments. it simply glows. la la loves!

this first picture shows the difference with a coat of white polish underneath on my INDEX and RING fingers, with one coat of pool party.
i had a helluva time getting these pictures in focus so sorry about the blurries! the rest of the swatches are three coats.

hope everyone's day is going marvelously! did everyone watch "glee" last night? i went gaga for it HAHA. also, the "biggest loser" finale was sooo good! i'm excited for the "american idol" finale tonight. i hope lee wins! but i like crystal too. i'd buy both of their albums. well...i'd download them ;)

china glaze flip flop fantasy

this is the polish i was actually the most interested in when i first saw pictures for the china glaze poolside collection, but was probably the least impressed with. don't get me wrong, flip flop fantasy is pretty great, but i was expecting...idk more? coral is still my favorite shade so i can't totally discount this guy and the pictures don't really do it justice, so maybe i need to give it another try. also, i don't think the color in these pictures is true to it IRL but it's the best i could do. it's not hardly as orange. this one really really day-glows so that is pretty dope. this is three coats. i believe i used a coat of white under the INDEX and RING fingers, like on the previous swatches from this collection for opacity differences, tho this one didn't really need it.

china glaze sun worshiper

this polish is totally ME. seriously, it screams KELLIE. obnoxious, bright, loud, unapologetic, fearless, warm, and somewhat daring. i don't want to toot my own horn but i pretty much am all those things ;) sun worshiper is a ridiculously neon yellow-orange that could send a nude-polish lover running for the hills. and that's why i LOVE it! don't get me wrong, you know me, i love my nudes, but i adore shades like this. colors like sun worshipper are pretty much the reason why i love nail polish and fashion. you can do literally ANYTHING you want with it and someone out there will love it and identify with it. way to go china glaze! their poolside collection is literally rocking my socks off ;) this reminds me of nuclear orange juice or something haha, like that awful sunny d.

this is three coats. there is a coat of white polish (nail polish panties, as one reader calls it!) underneath on my INDEX and RING fingers to show opacity differences.

sorry i missed taking a picture of this guy with a topcoat on :(

china glaze kiwi cool-ada

this is polish #3 from the poolside collection from china glaze for summer 2010. it's a neon to put all other neons to shame that is for sure. bright, blinding, extreme green! kiwi cool-ada brings to mind a tropical drink or something, mmm yummy. that would be nice to have today considering it's flippen SNOWING!!! yep folks, it was blizzarding this morning when good ol' kellie woke up in northern utah. yuck! double yuck! seeing this polish so big and bright warms my cold little toes and makes me yearn for summer. this is three coats. i put one coat of white polish on my INDEX and RING fingers to show the difference it makes with opacity.
