Fortune Cookie Soap Fall 2016 Soap Box Review - As You Wish

Hi friends! I'm back today with another Soap Box review courtesy of Fortune Cookie Soap! This is their Fall 2016 quarterly box, a set of 8 of products in their new scents in (mostly) mini sizes! It's a preview of all the scents that will be available in the full collection, the launch of which is usually about 2 weeks after soap boxes are delivered. This season the theme is As You Wish, which of course means The Princess Bride! That movie is seriously my childhood, I love it so much! I bet I've watched it at least 150 times, and the majority of those views were probably via VHS tape haha. Inconceivable? Nah. Let's take a look at the box!

Product and scent descriptions after the jump!

Glam Polish Ready...Set... GO! Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Mario Kart is literally the only video game I ever want to play. But I don't own it or a way to play it sadly. I've honestly considered buying a gaming console just to play Mario Kart, haha! Needless to say, I was SO down with the theme of Glam Polish's latest collection when I heard what it was. Ready...Set...GO! is a collection of twelve glitter polishes (well, one is actually a holo) inspired by the characters from the Mario Kart game and I have six of them to show you today!
Image via Glam Polish

All of these shades had the same formula, great and easy to apply like almost every Glam glitter polish I've tried. They are all opaque in two coats and dry slightly textured, like glitters do, so you'll want two layers of top coat for a smooth surface. Some of them have star shaped glitter, but they were pretty sparse so you may have to fish a bit to get them on the nail.

Mario Time! (inspired by Mario) has "cherry, blueberry, neon blue, white, red, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Mario Time!

Yeah Baby! (inspired by Lemmy Koopa) has "rainbow and yellow, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Yeah Baby!

Luigi Number One! (inspired by Luigi) has "blue, green, white, yellow, silver holo, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Luigi Number One!

Wario Always Win! (inspired by Wario) has "pink, magenta, yellow, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Wario Always Win!

Watch Out! (inspired by Yoshi) has "neon green, neon orange, green, orange, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Watch Out!

Wheels Up! (inspired by Toadette) has "neon pink, magenta, pink holo, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."
Glam Polish Wheels Up!

The remaining shades in the collection that I did not receive are: Pink Gold Peach! (inspired by Pink Gold Peach) is a "rose gold holo with pink/gold shimmering flakies"; Peach has Got It! (inspired by Princess Peach) has "neon pink, orchid, coral, bubblegum, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; I’ll Get You Next Time! (inspired by Bowser) has "yellow, neon green, neon orange, white micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; Take That Losers! (inspired by Donkey Kong) has "red holo, copper holo, yellow, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; Wheeeeee! (inspired by Rosalina) has "aqua, turquoise, white, micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base"; and Waluigi Lose! Impossible! (inspired by Waluigi) has "purple, navy, white micro and shaped glitters with ultra holo glitter in a holo base."

This collection releases on Friday, August 5th at 2pm EST (USA) on the Glam Polish website. Be sure to check out the rest of the collection, Glam Polish always posts photos on their Facebook page. What do you think of this collection? Are you a Mario Kart fan?

Frenzy Polish Hummingbird Hollow Collection Swatches & Review

Hey there! Today I have a collection from indie brand Frenzy Polish to show you, called Hummingbird Hollow. It's a seven piece collection inspired by the beauty of those little jewel-like birdies!

Purple-Backed Sunbeam is a deep eggplant-purple holographic with purple flash. I found it to be on the thicker side, but not difficult to apply. This was slightly metallic as well, which I think contributed to the thickness. This is two coats.
Frenzy Polish Purple-Backed Sunbeam

Trill-iant is a grey based bronze holographic with red to golden shifty shimmer. This one was also thick, but again applied fine and covered in two coats.
Frenzy Polish Trill-iant

Flit is a teal holographic with a yellow/green flash of shimmer. This applied well and had a nice middle of the road viscosity. It was a little tiny bit brushstrokey due to the metallic shimmer, but I don't think it shows too much when the polish dries. Two coats.
Frenzy Polish Flit

Sugar Baby is a orchid pink holographic with a subtle blue flash and blue/green multichrome flakies. This one was a tad thick but again, not difficult to use. This is two coats. I like this one a lot, but I wish it had more of those flakies. I feel like they get a little lost with the holo effect.
Frenzy Polish Sugar Baby

Sky Chaser is a rich, cool blue holographic. There is a subtle purple shift to this which makes it a tad shifty. Excellent formula, opaque in two coats.
Frenzy Polish Sky Chaser

Brilliant Blur is a bright metallic green holographic with a yellow gold shimmer flash and multichrome flakies. Thick formula again, but a good thick. The flakies in this were more prevalent than in the pink and I think they really give the polish that oomph! Two coats.
Frenzy Polish Brilliant Blur

Ruby Throated Rebel has a regal red base filled with scattered holographic effects, microglitter and multichrome flakies. This is a bit chunky because it has so many fabulous goodies in it, but applies pretty easily. Some of the larger flakie bits were sticking out a bit so I recommend a thick top coat for this one.
Frenzy Polish Ruby Throated Rebel

This collection will be released on Friday, July 29th at 7pm EST on the Frenzy Polish website. The individual bottles are priced at $9.50 with the entire collection selling for $65. I've been told that the owner of Frenzy Polish is taking a break after this collection, so we probably won't see anything new from them for a few months. What do you think of these flights of fancy? My favorites have to be the red and grey shades!

OPI Fall/Winter 2016 Washington D.C. Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Mani Monday everyone! I'm excited to bring to you the next great collection from OPI, the Washington D.C. collection for Fall/Winter 2016! Actress and fashion icon Kerry Washington has joined the OPI family as a Creative Ambassador recently and co-designed this collection with Cofounder and Creative Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. There are 12 regular shades and three limited edition colors, all crèmes save one that has a slight pearl shimmer, in dramatic and sophisticated tones. Let's jump in!
Image via OPI

CIA = Color Is Awesome is a dusky blue teal crème. This applied evenly and was really pigmented. This is two coats. I didn't have any staining with this shade when I wore it as well, which is great.
OPI CIA = Color Is Awesome

Freedom of Peach is a soft, warm peachy orange crème. The formula was great and I got full coverage in two coats.
OPI Freedom of Peach

Inside The ISABELLEtway is one of the limited edition "bonus" colors, a caramel malt brown crème. This formula is epicly good, basically a one coater! I used two as usual though.
OPI Inside The ISABELLEtway

Kerry Blossom is another limited edition shade, a dark plummy purple crème. Dries darker than it appears in the bottle, but not too dark. This is two coats, but you may need three if you're a stickler for very thin coats.
OPI Kerry Blossom

"Liv" in the Gray is the last limited edition polish, a dark grey crème with a tinge of green. This is an amazing one coat wonder! I used two coats like I always do though.
OPI "Liv" in the Gray

Madam President is a vivid magenta pinky red crème. Another fabulous formula, not too thick or thin. Almost a one coater, but two layers covered 100%.
OPI Madam President

Never A Dulles Moment is an interesting yellow crème, kind of sunshiney mustardy. OPI describes it as a "curry yellow". This was a tiny bit streaky on two coats, so I used three. It was better than I expected though for a yellow!
OPI Never A Dulles Moment

OPI By Popular Vote is a rich magenta berry-ish red crème. This one also had a great formula, opaque in two even coats.
OPI OPI By Popular Vote

Pale To The Chief is a "nearly nude" light beige with a very soft pearl finish. The first and second coats kinda pulled up the polish if I went over my strokes too much, so I recommend using a good amount of polish on your brush and doing the three stroke method. The third coat evened everything out for full coverage.
OPI Pale To The Chief

Shh...It's Top Secret! is a deep, dark espresso brown crème. This had an ok formula, I think you might need three coats if you do thinner layers than I do, but I used two.
OPI Shh...It's Top Secret!

Squeaker of The House is a cool, chocolate mousse brown crème. This almost has a slight purple tinge to it which is neat. This went on smooth and easy, almost a one coater but again I used two.
OPI Squeaker of The House

Stay Off The Lawn!! is a lush rainforest green crème. Excellent pigmentation and formula, a one coater! I used two here.
OPI Stay Off The Lawn!!

Suzi - The First Lady of Nails is a gorgeous olive green crème. Another awesome one, two coats. I love that there are two greens in this collection!
OPI Suzi - The First Lady of Nails

We The Female is a dark garnet red crème. I feel like a broken record, but this one is great too! Two easy, pigmented coats.
OPI We The Female

Yank My Doodle is a warm "tawny copper" crème. Another super great formula, only two coats. Dat name tho!
OPI Yank My Doodle

This collection will be available in August wherever OPI is sold, such as Ulta stores, Sally Beauty Supply, and professional salons. They retail for around $10 each. What do you think of this collection? If you're a crème fan, these are sure to be a dream come true for you! The formulas are seriously almost all amazing, the viscosity is excellent, neither thick or thin, and flowed on the nail like butter. I'm super impressed with this collection, even though the colors might not be groundbreaking in terms of uniqueness, they're all welcome to my stash! **EDIT: If you're looking for swatches of the two Ulta exclusives for this collection, see my review HERE!

Nine Zero Lacquer The Accent Glitters Collection Swatches & Review

Good day to you, dear friend! I have the latest collection from indie brand Nine Zero Lacquer to show you today. This set of eight glitter polishes are coined as accent glitters, meant to be "simple but effective tools to add something extra to any manicure. Use as a full manicure or as single accent nail for a punch of holographic sparkle." They would also be great for use in nail art.

These all had pretty much the same formula, they seemed sparse on the first layer, but built up nicely in three coats. You might see a spot here or there that's not covered but they're so blingy and rainbow-rific that you really can't tell in real life. You could also sponge these on for a completely opaque look. They dry like microglitters so you'll want a thick top coat. My favorite for glitters lately is Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.

Diamond is a silver holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Diamond

Sapphire is a rich blue holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Sapphire

Rose Quartz is a pale rose pink holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Rose Quartz

Emerald is a deep teal green holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Emerald

Amethyst is a light purple holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Amethyst

Ruby is a pinky red holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Ruby

Citrine is a yellowy green holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Citrine

Onyx is a black holographic microglitter in a clear base.
Nine Zero Lacquer Onyx

These polishes are available on the Nine Zero Lacquer website now for $10 each, or you can buy the set of eight for $75. They are really beautiful and crazy blingy! My friend Valesha of Peachy Polish has some great macro shots of these on her blog you should look at! My favorite is Onyx but I enjoyed them all. Let me know what you think of these! Would you wear them as an accent nail or a full mani??

Sunny's Body Products Summer Essentials Box Review

Happy Friday cookies! Today I have the latest seasonal box from Sunny's Body Products to share with you! This time she's offering a smaller box (8 products instead of the usual 10) for a lower price for the summer. The OG products are in here along with a newer one or two. Let's dive into the Summer Essentials!

First we have Sunny's Hand Butter in the scent Blue Summer - Imagine eating fresh picked berries while wandering through a flower garden wild with jasmine, roses, blue lotus and orange blossoms. A gentle breeze lifts your hair and sparkles with notes of ginger and cedar along with heady vanilla-musk and amber. This is mellow and smooth and totally makes me think of a sexy evening in the garden with a hot guy by my side. OOH yeah. I love the formula of her hand butter, though it can take a bit to absorb so I usually use it in the evenings before bed.

Next is Sunny's Cuticle Oil in the scent Driftwood & Sea Salt - Feel the salt spray coating your hair as you awe in the power of the wild seas. Driftwood & Sea Salt picks up notes of citrus, mangos, orchids and lilies and finishes with a hit of salt soaked driftwood. I wasn't sure about this upon first sniff, but after wearing it for a while I really like it. Again, pretty mellow and sort of unisex but still feminine? This one is hard to capture in words! I adore the rollerball applicator and quick absorbing formula of this oil.

Sunny's Sugar Hand Scrub is scented as Sea Foam & Balsam - top notes in citrus and ozonic notes; middle - sandalwood, geranium, and white flowers; base - patchouli, caramel, and amber. I am obsessed with the scrub, it's perfect for keeping my overworked nail blogger hands and fingers in tip top shape. This scent for me was just ok, I don't think I'm an ozone fan. I do enjoy the citrus and flower notes so it's a toss up.

The scent for Sunny's On the Go Hand Lotion is called Aloha Vanilla - a warm tropical island breeze with beautiful aromas of sweet mango, vanilla absolute and creamy coconut with a touch of lotus flower. This lotion formula is my favorite to carry in my purse, it absorbs so fast with a nice dose of moisture. However, the scent didn't work for me. I think the coconut is to blame for my disdain, but you might love it!

The other oil that they make is Sunny's Intensive Cuticle Therapy, this one is in the scent Summer Boardwalk - a yummy boardwalk smells of caramel glazed popcorn, warm taffy apples and sweet, creamy saltwater taffy. This is very warm and foodie, sweet with a hint of salt and fruit. I wanted to eat my fingers with this stuff on! I love this oil for really pampering my cuticles and nails, it is feels so luxe.

And here we have Sunny's Triple Thick Body Cream in Sunset By The Pool - top notes of fuzzy apricot, sparkling bergamot, juicy grapefruit; mid notes of lily of the valley, mirabel plum, blood orange, apple blossom; bottom notes of sun warmed woods and Madagascar vanilla. This is totally a summer lotion scent, familiar but new at the same time. This might sound funny, but it makes me think of that one impossibly perfect girl who you see at the pool looking effortlessly stunning while you're sweating and getting sunburnt and falling off your floatie raft. I want to be that girl, and this makes me smell like I imagine she does haha.

Sunny's Miracle Balm in the scent Tiki Beach - a luxurious blend of toasted coconut, vanilla musk and orchids brings the glamour of a resort-stay to you. The combination of sparkling lemon, toasted coconut, orchid petals with tiny hints of green leaves blended with white cedar and vanilla musk will lull you into a tropical paradise! I'm in love with this complex, warm, girly summer scent! My favorite in the box. Miracle balm is seriously a miracle, you can put it anywhere haha! I usually put it on my cuticles and elbows for serious moisture.

Sunny's Lip Saver is the last product in the box, with the scent/flavor Caribbean Delight - sweet pineapple and mangos and papayas. I am not the biggest fan of pineapples, but the mix of the fruits makes this work for me. This little tube keeps my lips supple for hours!

This box will be available for purchase today on their website at $30 with free US shipping, $5 international shipping. I think this is a great bang for your buck! And if you're into summer scents, you're going to be head over heels for these items. There is a limited number available, so don't hesitate to pick it up if you're interested. Have YOU tried Sunny's yet??

Potion Polish Summer In New York Collection Swatches & Review

Today I have the newest collection from indie brand Potion Polish, the Summer in New York collection! A few of my blogging besties are posting their swatches & reviews of this collection today also, so please be sure to check out their blog posts (links at the bottom)!

Central Park Peonies is a warm watermelon pink crelly filled with holographic flakes. This applied easily and was opaque on two coats.
Potion Polish Central Park Peonies

Manhattan Skyline is an indigo jelly packed with red shimmer and shifting aqua-blue opalescent flakies. The formula was easy to apply, not gummy like some jellies can get. I used three coats here.
Potion Polish Manhattan Skyline

Coney Island Coaster is a bright, light aqua with shifty glass fleck shimmer and holographic microglitter. This one seemed chunkier upon application than I expected from looking at it in the bottle. Not difficult, but different. I used three coats for this guy. There is a really pretty pink shift to this color that shows up a lot more in real life than it chose to in my photo.
Potion Polish Coney Island Coaster

Rooftop Movies is a medium blurple (more purple to me) crelly with holographic flakes and pink glass fleck glitter. This went on well, similar to Peonies in formula, and opaque in two coats.
Potion Polish Rooftop Movies

Times Square is a dark teal blue jelly filled with holographic glitter and a sprinkle of shifting shimmer that turns from blue to pink. I was also pleased with the formula on this, it spread on the nail nicely and wasn't gummy. I used three coats to completely cover my nail line.
Potion Polish Times Square

And as an extra, I'm including Liberty from the recent Potion Polish Independence Day collection. She's a cornflower blue crelly with silver flakes and a touch of scattered holographic bits. Awesome, easy formula, opaque in two coats.
Potion Polish Liberty

The Summer In New York colors are releasing July 22 at 1pm EST on the Potion Polish website. They are all priced at $11.00. Liberty is available now for $10. Let me know what you think about these shades! And please be sure to check out my friends' posts on this collection: Nail Polish Society, Peachy Polish and Very Emily.
