OPI Designer Series Shades for 2012

Hi there! Today I have the two new Designer Series shades from OPI for 2012. These are formulated with diamond dust and are a few bucks more than regular OPI shades. In the past they were primarily holographic but in the last few years the releases in the DS range are mostly glittery. The two new shades are foily, glitzy, glowy and fabulous.

Luxurious is a sunshine orange glowy bomb of hotness. It reminds me of China Glaze Riveting from the Hunger Games collection, but this is slightly warmer and more red. This applies like a dream and it's really an unbelievably gorgeous shade. I am UBER into oranges this year and this is like my fantasy polish come to life. Two coats.

Indulgence is in the same league as Luxurious, this time in autumn apple red with gold. The base is on the cool side but the firey gold glitz warms it up. The shimmery flecks really bogart this photo, but in person it perfectly compliments the red base. Seriously perfect formula. Two coats.

I can't explain how freaking hot these are. I am in love with both of them. By far the best DS polishes released in YEARS. Do you have them? If not, do you want them? If not, what's wrong with you?! They are unbelievably awesome.

P.S. The winner of my Misa Wanderlust giveaway has been randomly selected and contacted. Congratulations!!

BB Couture for Men - Men in Polish Collection

Hey everyone, hope your week is going well :) I have the newest BB Couture collection to show you, called the Men In Polish collection. I'm assuming the name is a twist on the movie Men In Black, a trilogy of movies about aliens and Will Smith kicking their butts. This collection is in BB Couture's Men's polish line, but of course women can wear them as well.

First up is Area 51. This is a metallic warm medium beige. It definitely reminds me of the desert, where the location it's named for is. Very handsome color. Two coats. A little streaky but it's a smooth metallic bordering on a frost so I expected that.

Next is Anal Probe. Ok, I'm sorry, I'm all about pushing the boundaries but the name of this just makes me go EW. The color is your basic poop brown. I love BB Couture so damn much but this just escapes me. The green tinge floating at the top of my bottle makes me wanna dry heave a little bit. This is two coats. It is a bit more watery than I'd like in a creme.

Here is Boned Invader. This is my kinda color. It reminds me of Kelly's Green from the Vampy Varnish collection, only this is a darker slightly warmer shade of green. There is salt and pepper glitter in it that I love. Great application. Two coats.

Martian Mushroom is a dark grey brown cream that is nice but not super unique or terribly interesting. However it is a lovely color. I'd say it's almost bordering on having a purple tint but at a glance it looks like a muted black. Ok formula, a little thin. Two coats.

One of my favorites of the collection, metallic spring yellowy green Alien Puke. I don't know if you know this about me but I have a pretty serious phobia of vomit, so of course I'm not a fan of this one's moniker but I kinda love the color. Awesomely shimmery and metallic, this is two coats. Great formula and coverage.

Orion's Belt is a super fly stunna in the bottle, but on the nails it falls a tad flat. It's a rich black with lots of tiny holographic silver glitter, but the glitter gets truly lost in the melee and only pops occasionally in full sunlight. Very nice formula, one coater even, but I used two for this swatch. Topcoat is a must as it dries on the matte side and a little gritty.

I've said it once, I'll say it again, I love me some BBCs. However this collection isn't one I'm particularly impressed by. My picks are Alien Puke and Boned Invader, the rest I could do without. What are your thoughts on this extraterrestrial inspired group of lacquers?

You can buy BB Couture from their website www.bbnailpolish.com or from www.overallbeauty.com.

Zoya NYFW Gloss Collection Fall 2012

The Gloss collection is one of three collections from Zoya for Fall. Specifically made to go with/compliment the New York Fashion Week show at Peter Som. This collection has three glossy jelly colors. These can be used alone very sheer or built up to create a juicy jelly look. You can also use them for gradients and for layering, they are especially useful for glitter/jelly sandwiches.

First is Paloma, a rich fuschia berry pink. It's quite bright and delicious looking. This is four coats to make it close to opaque. This applied evenly and is very color saturated.

Next is Frida, a dark warm toned blue teal. This is more sheer than Paloma, but looks even on the nail. I wanted to show the different coverage options by leaving this a bit more sheer. This is two coats.

And rounding out the trio is Katherine, a red toned grape purple. This is a gorgeous color but I found it harder to make it look even on the nail. This is three coats.

These are available on Zoya.com for $8 each or in a trio for $24. What do you think of these? Nice to see something so unique from Zoya. There are two more collections for NYFW from Zoya for Fall so those will be posted here soon. Have a great day!
