OPI Holiday 2014 Gwen Stefani Collection Swatches & Review

Hi there! I am happy to be showing you the holiday collection for 2014 from OPI, their second collaboration with Gwen Stefani. I tried to get these done before the actual holidays, but it's a huuuge collection and it just wasn't in the cards. I hope you still would like to see them though, because they are fab! This collection has a set of six reds, four unique and fun glitters, and eight rich festive shades. Let's see how they look!

This is a long post, so click below to see the individual swatches!

First is Christmas Gone Plaid, a seriously amazing evergreen crème. This is my new favorite dark green. It has a buttery formula that is totally opaque in two coats. It's dark, but not too dark that you'd think it was black which is great!

This is called In A Holidaze, it is a blue toned red jelly that is super shiny. A really great holiday red. This is the shade Gwen is wearing in a lot of the adverts for this collection and it makes me swoon. I used three coats here.

I Carol About You is a stunning royal purple shade with a slight pink shimmer. This one is almost a metallic but it's not. Really beautiful, which is something coming from someone who doesn't fall for purples that much. Great formula, two coats.

Next is another red, Cinnamon Sweet. This one is a real true red crème, not too blue and not too orange or pink. Fantastic formula, one coater (but I always do two out of habit). This one might stain your cuticles though, it's very pigmented.

Love Is Hot and Coal is a charcoal-ish dark brown with a vein of silver shimmer. I love this, it is close to Queen of the Road from the Mustang collection, but is more brown. This could get brushstroke-y if you aren't careful but it's pretty easy to apply. I used two coats.

Here we have a silver foil called Unfrost My Heart. Excellent formula, opaque in two coats. I have a few silvers in my arsenal that are super similar but this is a great one to pick up if you don't have one.

This gal is called Kiss Me - Or Elf! It's a fuchsia shimmer metallic that applies like a dream. I don't usually love colors like this, but it actually impressed me. Two coats.

First Class Desires is a dark eggplant purple with gold and purple shimmer. This was deeper than I expected, it appears almost black in lower lights. My skin looks really weird in this photo, but the polish is color accurate. This is a close sister of Zoya Sansa from the Ignite collection, but this one is darker. I used two coats here but it's almost opaque in one.

And here is What's Your Point-settia?, a seriously perfect warm red crème. Incredible formula, it practically paints itself on! I don't get excited for reds, I've never been a red kinda girl, but this is just alien-like perfection. One coater, but I gave you two. New. Favorite. Red.

Just BeClaus is a berry maroon crème. It's another color that I don't usually reach for, but I should because it looks great! Dries a bit darker than it looks in the bottle. Another awesome formula! This is two coats.

Sleigh Parking Only is a deep rum raisin-y crème. This is nice, not super out of the box or whatever, but I still like it for what it is. Two coats, but you might get away with one.

Next is Fashion A Bow, an bright orangey red jelly crème. This is so vibrant and squishy, I just am in love! Another awesome squishy formula, this is two coats.

This is Rollin' In Cashmere, a cool shimmery gold. Not crazy metallic but bordering on frosty. I would've loved to see a "chrome gold", like Push & Shove from the last OPI Gwen Stefani collection, but I ended up really liking how this looked on me. Two easy coats.

Red Fingers & Mistletoes is a blue toned red with boatloads of gold shimmer. It's got kind of a glass fleck look to it, which I usually love but I was expecting this to have the same glitter finish as First Class Desires so I was a bit let down. I wish the gold popped out more. Two coats.

Now on to the glitter top coats! First is So Elegant seen here over Unfrost My Heart. It has reflective gunmetal and black glitters in varying sizes in a clear base. I wasn't too interested in this in the bottle but I ended up really liking it! Two coats.

Here we have I'll Tinsel You In shown over Rollin' In Cashmere. This has black and white glitters in bars, circles/hexes and squares. This is fun and kind of unexpected coming from OPI, but not my favorite. Two coats.

Even more unexpected is Comet In the Sky.This is a multi-sized mix of black and iridescent rainbowy flake hex glitters in a clear base. All I can say is WOW and you have to see how awesome this is in person! I wore two coats over Christmas Gone Plaid. You may have to place some of the larger glitter but it's worth it! I've included a shade photo to show it looks amazing in both bright and lower lights.

And last is my bae, Snow Globetrotter. This is a white version of Comet In the Sky, and I love it so much! It's angelic yet edgy and I can't wait to wear it over more shades. I put two coats over I Carol About You. Be still my heart!

There was also a super special edition top coat released for this collection called Don't Speak, it has 18K gold leaf flakes and iridescent glitters. This top coat retails for $30. I wasn't able to find it for sale in my tiny little town, but will definitely snatch it up if I find it!

I am quite happy with this collection, unique or not unique may the crèmes be, but those glitters though! Lots of amazing formulas, fun new glitters and a lot to choose from = a win in my book! These should still be available in stores like Ulta, Sally Beauty, JCPenney, professional salons, etc. I have seen a lot of these at Marshall's lately and they're probably in TJ Maxx stores too, be sure to check. What do you think of this massive collection from OPI? Any favorites?

Thanks for reading!
