Fortune Cookie Soap Spring 2016 Soap Box Review - Let It Grow

Are you ready for some soap?? Today I'm excited to share with you the first Fortune Cookie Soap subscription box of 2016! Each box contains 8 sample products in the different scents that will be available in the upcoming season's limited edition collection. It's basically a preview of the scents so you can decide which you like before they're all available to purchase online in their different products. There are always a limited quantity of boxes to be sold so please sign up now if you want this box!

I've realized that some people like to be completely surprised when their box comes, so if you don't mind spoilers and want to see what's inside the box, click to see more!

The Spring 2016 box theme is Let It Grow, for Dr. Seuss's The Lorax. I used to love that book as a child, but I didn't see the movie so I may not get some of the references they make here, but oh well!
Right click on picture and choose "open link in new tab" to see larger.

The first product is the Fortune Cookie Soap in the scent Guardian of the Forest - a bouquet of spring flowers and fresh-cut meyer lemons. This is a solid soap shaped like a fortune cookie, just as the name implies! I really love this scent, and it's super familiar to me but I can't place where I know it from. My fortune (yes it comes with an actual fortune!) says, "A tree falls the way it leans, careful which way you lean."

Next is the OCD hand sanitizer in This Thing? - bright orange notes with sweet vanilla, a hint of citrusy-lemon and delicate florals. I adore their sanitizers, they are probably my most used product from FCS! I have them all over my home, at work, in my purse, everywhere! I like that they are not drying like most hand sanitizers. This scent is my favorite in the box, so springy and bright!

A new product for FCS is a Cuticle Oil in the scent One C - warm woods swirled with patchouli and a dollop of creamy vanilla. I am SO glad they are making cuticle oils now, I was hoping they would. Being a nail polish blogger, my cuticles need to be in tip top shape so I use oils constantly. I don't know the ingredients yet, but it absorbed easily and moisturized really well for me. This scent is a little too heady for me, though. It seems like it would work as a unisex scent, not too masculine or feminine either way.

The Petal Perfume is in the scent Paradise Found - freesia, bruised rose petals, fresh mangos & strawberries darkened by tonka bean & amber. Compared to the last scent, this one is extremely feminine. I find it equally fruity and floral which is a great combination. It's in a roller style bottle with rose petals floating inside. Tres chic!

The Whipped Cream body butter has been scented with Disco Tree - fresh picked berries, lily of the valley, and sandalwood. Another very feminine scent, mostly floral to my nose. The lotion is light, fluffy and absorbs well in any scent, so it's always a winner for me!

A bath bomb for your shower? That's what you get with the FCS Shower Steamers! This one is in the scent In-Organic - fresh squeezed lemons with parsley. I love these things, they are solid tabs that sit on your shower floor, out of the direct stream of water, and fizz up to release their scent, so you get a full aromatherapy experience without needing a bathtub. This is very fresh smelling, a classic clean scent.

Another new item is the Pedi-Bomb; they sell bath bombs regularly but this is the first I've seen labeled specifically for the feet. It's a bright orange shade with a leaf mold on top, so cute! It is in the scent called Unless... - fresh spring water with a hint of algae, hyacinths and water lilies, grounded by dirt and oakmoss, earthy woods & resins. This scent is complex and very soothing, like could definitely find this type of aroma in a fancy hotel spa or something.

And the last product is their Shampoo Bar in the scent Oh Hair - fresh peach nectar and grapefruit with a sprig of thyme. This is probably the most highly scented shampoo bar I've tried from FCS, incredibly bold but not overwhelming. It's definitely the sweetest scent in the box, which I love. Peach isn't always my favorite note, but something about the other additions make it really work for me. And that teal color is adorable right?!

They always include something extra in the boxes and this time it looks like it's the flower shaped confetti mixed in with the green paper padding (worms?). The bottom of the scent card says "But Wait! There's More! Join us at FCS in helping change the world, sprinkle your confetti in the ground and Let It Grow!" I am pretty sure there are little seeds embedded in the paper, which is so rad!

This box is still available to purchase on their website as of this post's publication, but they sell out quickly so go sign up now if you want it! For US customers it costs $19.99, billed every 3-months; Canadian and international subscriptions are a little more due to shipping fees. A nice addition is with the purchase of each quarterly box, you will get a $10 off coupon code emailed to you for use on their site at a later time for full size products.

This will not work with the purchase of the soap box, but if you are ordering from their site for the first time, you can get $5 off a minimum order of $30 using my referral link: http://r.sloyalty.com/r/u3Swp30VtTsE. If you decide to use the code the link will give you, it helps me out a little by giving me points.

The launch of the Let It Grow scent collection will be on Friday, February 19 at 6pm CST, starting on their Facebook page. They do a live webcast showing the products that will be available in all the different scents before they put the collection up for purchase on their website. Expect it to last about an hour or more before the shopping begins. They do lots of awesome giveaways and you get to meet the people behind the brand and see behind the scenes, which is so fun! Tell me what you think about this theme! What scent do you think you will like the best?

Thanks for stopping by today!
