Cupcake Polish Coffin Break Swatch & Review

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend went well! Mine started good but ended a little sour. My poor kitty Asher is not feeling his best right now. We think he could have some chronic kidney problems. We're treating him for an infection right now but this is something he's had multiple times, so I'm hoping we can figure out the root of the problem and finally fix it. I hate when pets are sick, it's so heartbreaking.
**UPDATE: Asher is doing much better, thanks for your well wishes!

Anyways, now that I've bummed you out, I wanted to show you this Cupcake Polish that I bought awhile back. It's black like my soul. Well, actually it's a very dark brown, but in most lighting it sadly looks more black. Coffin Break is a linear holographic polish from their Fall 2015 collection, Modern Vampire. It's got a very pigmented formula, very opaque. This is two coats.

So it's not exactly the deep velvety brown holo I was hoping for, more of an espresso, but it's a great polish even so. I purchased this from the Cupcake Polish website for $13, and it's still available in stock. Let me know what you think of this shade. My Picks from the ILNP Fall 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hey you, how ya doing today? I'm finally feeling better after my latest cold, phew! I've got two polishes from the ILNP (I Love Nail Polish) Fall 2015 collection to show you. I only bought two of the seventeen shades that they came out with for the season, but I really love the ones I got.

Clockwork is a bronze gold in the ILNP "precious metal" formula, metallic flakes with a range of holographic particles in a silky beige base. The flakes in this are smooth and flat and meld together into a super shiny, luxurious metallic finish. Then you add in the holo and this knocks you over with sparkle! This is two coats. I might be obsessed with this. Not difficult to remove like regular glitters, which is very nice.

Spiced Eggnog is a different type of beautiful, an odd fellow in my collection. I had to have this because it's so unique. A beige "eggnog" crelly base with soft holographic shimmer, and burnt orange speckle flakes that become the "spice". This also had a great formula, very easy to apply. Two coats. It's a love it or hate it shade, and I adore it!

I purchased these from the ILNP website for $10 each. Did you pick anything up from this collection? They just released their Holiday collection and it's amazing. I need to go get some more of their metallic flake polishes, it might be the coolest finish out right now!

Native War Paints The Cozy Sweaters Collection Swatches & Review

Hi friends, hope your week is going well! I've come down with another awesome (not!) cold so I've been mostly resting and throwing back the vitamin c to try to get well before Thanksgiving hits so I am able to taste my food. :P

Today I wanted to show you a collection I bought from Native War Paints a while ago called The Cozy Sweaters. These are six polishes inspired by their best selling polish from last year, My Favorite Sweater, all featuring a strong gold shimmer. (A little fun fact, I had to photograph these without the label in the front showing because the bright white of the sticker was throwing off my exposure balance.)

Cable Knit Sweater is a dark cadet blue grey with that lovely gold shimmer. Shows up more in bright light, but still a definite shimmer indoors as well. Thick but opaque in one coat, but I used two here. Dries very fast and self-levels like a dream. Dries down to a dull finish so you will need a top coat for shine. I love this so much, I'm wearing it right now!

Cashmere Sweater is a pinky red with gold shimmer that reminds me of a freshly harvested Gala apple. Same formula as Cable Knit, very easy to apply but thick. Two coats. Also dries to a matte finish.

Cozy Sweater is a dark midnight blue with gold shimmer. This looks blue in the bottle, but is so dark that it appears mostly black to me on the nail. The shimmer really pops out from the dark base on this one. Another easy formula, two coats here. Dries matte.

My Favorite Sweater HDF is the reincarnated and slightly adjusted version of their original polish called My Favorite Sweater. The HDF stands for holographic, duochrome, and flakies. It's a mid-tone blue teal with green and blue shimmer, flakes and gold shimmer. This was quite chunky and thick with all the stuff going on inside, but I was shocked to see how easy it was to paint with. Two coats as well. I like this a lot, but I think I would prefer the original version. Also dries dull.

Sweater Dress is a mid-to-light royal purple with gold shimmer. This one was a lighter shade than I expected it to be. The shimmer makes it positively glow! Went on more sheer than the others, but was still pretty opaque which is surprising. A little brushstrokey. Two coats. Dries matte.

Sweater Weather is a muted kelly green with gold shimmer. The shimmer is not as apparent in this one as the others. It has the thickest consistency of the collection, but is incredibly opaque. I only did one coat for this guy. It dries matte like the others.

The brush on these was a little big for my preference, and they were all a little splayed on the ends. But honestly these all had such forgiving formulas that I didn't end up having any problems with application. Another thing to mention is that they all were noticeably separated in the bottle, they needed a good shaking before I could put them on. My Favorite Sweater HDF required the most mixing, all the shimmer and flakies had sunk to the bottom of the bottle and it took a long time and a lot of shaking before it came together again. That may or may not bother you. I thought it would turn me off more than it did, but I ended up loving these so it didn't matter to me in the end.

I purchased these from the Native War Paints website. All of the polishes are $8.50 each, except for My Favorite Sweater HDF which is $9.50. Or you can get all six for $45. When they put out a new collection, it's usually sold as a pre-order first and is slightly discounted, so I was able to get the collection on pre-order for $40 which is a great price. Different Dimension Halloween 2015 Anomalous-Phenomenon Collection Swatches & Review

Hiiii friends! How is your October going? Mine is going swell because I have another Halloween collection to share with you today! Indie brand Different Dimension has put out a six shade collection for the season called Anomalous-Phenomenon, which means "that which is not sufficiently explained by science or inferred knowledge". This collection is "dedicated to those who are always on the hunt for the unknown," which totally describes me! I am a firm believer in science and logic, but there's always more we don't know about the universe, amirite??

EMF (which stands for electromagnetic field) is a dark red jelly polish with holographic microglitter. The jelly mostly overtakes the glitter and gives us a deep look with some sparkly bits popping out, a red galaxy! This was on the thicker side but I found it a bit runny too. I would take care not to get too much on your brush and use thin coats. I used three.

Chasing Shadows is a dark violet jelly polish with holographic microglitter. This had a thinner formula than EMF, but was still a little runny. I only needed two coats on this one.

Static Vision is a forest green jelly with holographic microglitter. This has a similar formula to EMF, thicker but a bit runny. This would be a great Halloween or Christmas polish in my opinion, love it! Three coats.

EVP (which stands for electronic voice phenomena) is a black jelly polish with holographic microglitter. This one was more thin and also a bit runny. It only required two coats for opacity though. I think this one dried a little grittier than the other, but one coat of top coat covered any texture completely.

Knock Once For Yes is a burnt orange (pumpkin spice!) with holographic microglitters. This one seemed the creamiest out of all the microglitters, maybe more of a crelly than a jelly base. Opaque on two coats.

Full Spectral is a white crelly polish with different sizes of hex and dot glitters in black, neon yellow, purple, orange, and green. I found the formula on this to be pretty easy going and typical of a glitter-full crelly, kinda sheer on the first coat but built up nicely in three thin coats.

These are being released tonight, Friday, October 2nd at 9pm EST on the Different Dimension website. The microglitters are priced at $8.75 each while the crelly Full Spectral will be specially priced at $5! How do you like these spooky shades?? I'm in love with them all, but the red and orange are my favorites!

Different Dimension Fall 2015 Falling In Love Collection Swatches & Review

Hey there! Ready for another Fall collection? The one I have to show you today is called Falling In Love from indie brand Different Dimension. These are all super rich shades of the fall season in beautiful linear holographic finishes. Onward!

You Blue It is an intense navy blue linear holographic with added shimmers. The formula was very easy to work with and this was opaque in two coats.

Let Your Gourd Down is giving me life, I can't even tell you. It's a burnt orange linear holographic with added shimmers. When I saw this I automatically thought "pumpkin spice holo"! It was basically opaque in one coat, but the second layer gives it a bit of a deeper color.

Love You A Latte is a soft latte brown linear holographic with added shimmers. This was on the thinner side, but not runny which was nice. Two coats for full opacity.

Leaf Me Alone is a light spring green linear holographic with added shimmers. This has the same thin formula as Latte, just as easy to work with too. I used two coats here.

I Lava You is a dark red berry linear holographic. The name makes me think of that Disney Pixar short "Lava" that was shown before the movie Inside Out, awww :) This was a little thicker and had a slightly more jelly-ish texture on the first coat, but the second coat went on super smooth and didn't feel as thick, possibly it liked sticking to itself better than my base coat? Two coats for this one as well.

Buttersweet Symphony is a linear holographic spicy mustard yellow with added shimmers and microglitters. In some lights it leans pretty green, looking more chartreuse. Effortless formula, opaque in two coats! I love the added bling of those glitters.

A Raisin For Living is a deep inky indigo purple linear holographic. This one was slighty thicker but still easy to apply. Two coats on this one as well.

You Light Up My Life is the only glitter topper in the collection, it has holographic shreds and microglitters in a holographic base. This is very dense, I used only one coat over Raisin and there was fabulous coverage. I love how it looks and I can't wait to wear this baby over more polishes!

The Falling In Love collection will be released on Friday October 2, at 9pm EST for $12 per bottle at the Different Dimension website. Tell me what you think about these gorgeous holos! The All Holo's Eve 2015 Collaboration Trio - Cirque Colors, Lacquer Lust and Serum No. 5

Greetings dear friends! I know it's Monday again, but I have a feeling your week is going to be awesome! ;) I wanted to start off this week with a bang, showing you the new collaboration trio from indie brands Cirque Colors, Lacquer Lust and Serum No. 5 called All Holo's Eve! This limited edition gift set has three Halloween themed lacquers all with a sparkling holographic element.

Cirque Colors Coven is an indigo blurple jelly polish with an orange to green shimmer effect. This reminds me of their Kontiki collection, so if you missed out on those this one might quench your thirst for that finish. It's sheer on the 1st coat but builds up nicely. It's almost opaque on two coats but I used three for maximum coverage. Dries very shiny!

Lacquer Lust Candy Corn and Unicorns is a silver holographic microglitter with metallic glitters in orange, yellow, white and black. This is quite the Halloween polish, it has traditional aspects but gives them a twist! It has a thicker consistency due to the dense glitter, but wasn't difficult to apply. I used two coats plus a shiny top coat.

Serum No. 5 You're Boo-tiful is a mix of pink, purple, orange, and silver metallic glitters in varying sizes in a black jelly base. This glows in the dark, but I failed to get a good glow picture. It makes me sad, because this glows like whoa! A little thick, but pretty easy to manage. I applied three coats for full opacity. Dries matte and slightly textured due to the glow pigment so use a top coat for smoothness and shine.

This trio is launching on October 4th at all three brand's websites for $32. CirqueColors.com will launch at 12pm EST while SerumNo5.com and Lacquer-Lust.com will be launching at 12pm PST. What do you think? I think this is a fun and funky set that is perfect for the best season ever, Halloween!

GlitterDaze The Marie Antoinette Collection Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a few days since my last post, it's been a bad month for headaches for me. I suffer from chronic daily headaches and migraines, and different factors like the weather and stress can make things much worse at times. I am feeling better this weekend so I'm back!

Today I have the newest GlitterDaze collection to show you! This is The Marie Antoinette collection, inspired by the infamous queen of France from back around the time before the French Revolution. There are six milky crellys with multichrome metallic flakes.

Chemise A La Reine has an off-white crelly base with multicolored metallic color shifting flakes and a sprinkle of holographic shimmer. This went on very easily and dried quickly. I was surprised at how opaque it was in only two coats. I recommend a top coat as these don't dry particularly shiny.

Off With Their Heads has a greenish browny grey base with shifting metallic flakes that turn from gold to pink to bronze, red/bronze shimmer and gold holographic shimmer. This one had some chunkier pieces of flakes than the first one, but was no different in application. Two coats.

Versailles has a lovely mint green crelly base with shifting multichrome flakes in green and blue tones with some holographic shimmer. This also had an easy formula, opaque in two coats.

Reign of Terror has a mauve pinky purple crelly base with purple shifting flakes that turn blue, gold and magenta as well as holographic shimmer. I feel like a broken record, but this has the same wonderful formula. Two coats.

Louis is a pale cornflower blue crelly with multichrome metallic flakes that flash purple to blue, silver shimmer and holographic sparkles. Same great formula, two coats for full opacity.

Eat Cake has a crelly base in a peachy pink nude tone with color shifting metallic flakes in pink/green/gold and gold holographic shimmer. Also great, also two coats. The brand mentions that this polish may cause light staining, though I swatched this without a base coat and wore it for a good twenty minutes or so and didn't notice anything. But please heed their warning and use a good coat of base or two.

These colors are stunning and they fit right into what I think of for the fashion at the time of Marie's life. These polishes were just a pleasure to put on, no fuss and super easy to work with. Maybe they won't be everyone's cup of tea, but they are really beautiful in person and very sparkly, it was difficult to show that in the photos. OPI Fall 2015 Venice Collection Swatches & Review

The Fall OPI collection is here! It's called Venice and has twelve permanent colors OPI is adding to their core line and three limited edition lacquers. The romantic shades in the collection are inspired by Baroque period decadence. Since this is a long one, I'll jump right into the swatches!

Purple Palazzo Pants is a pastel lilac purple crème. A pretty great formula, two coats with no issues. A surprising color to come in a Fall collection!

I Cannoli Wear OPI is a soft pale gray crème. I thought it was a white upon first look, but it's obviously a grey, especially when you put it next to a true white shade. This applied nicely for such a light color, only two coats.

Be There in a Prosecco is a pale slightly yellow beige crème. I felt like this one was more sheer than the other neutrals in the collection, maybe a little less pigmented. Three coats.

Tiramisu for Two is a soft tan buff crème. This is the only one I had a bit of trouble with, the formula felt both thick and thin to me which was weird and it didn't want to self-level at all. Three coats.

A Great Opera-tunity is a described as a "lush melon". It reminds me of that one peachy skin tone crayon, and I actually quite like it. I needed three coats for this crème, but it wasn't difficult to apply.

Gelato on My Mind is a sweet, pale pool water blue. Slightly on the icy side, really beautiful. Surprising for Fall to say the least. A little patchy on the first two coats, I needed three for full coverage.

Amore at the Grand Canal is a medium/deep blue toned red crème. Nothing special, but a lovely formula. This one was actually very shiny too, I think I forgot to put on top coat! Two coats.

It’s a Piazza Cake is described as a "persimmon" crème. This one is so Fall to me, I love it! Like a tangy pumpkiny orange. Great formula, almost one coat, but I used two.

O Suzi Mio is a deep eggplant purple crème. I've seen this color pop up in a few other collections this fall, but this sets itself apart by having a great opaque formula with no application issues. Two coats.

Gimme a Lido Kiss is a red shimmer with a bit of a violet flash. This had a lovely formula, almost opaque in one coat. I used two here.

My Gondola or Yours? is a black with a slight shimmer. Similar to the black we saw in the Mustang collection last year. This was a little thin but I didn't have any trouble with it. Two coats.

Worth a Pretty Penne is a shimmery warm copper foil. It looks like there is some silver mixed in with the copper to give this a melded look. This was basically opaque in one coat despite it's thin formula, but I used two coats. I like this polish, but don't love the color with my skin tone.

These next three shades are limited edition.

Venice the Party? is a bold aqua blue turquoise metallic. Easy formula and just a bit of brushstrokes due to the metallic finish. Two coats.

Baroque…But Still Shopping! is a slightly greenish-yellowy gold metallic (bordering on frosty) with cool gold hex glitters in different size. This went on easily, but was a little brushstrokey and gave me an uneven finish. I am not a fan of metallic bases with glitter in them, but this one isn't too terrible. I used two coats.

It does look a lot different in lower lights so here is a photo of Baroque in the shade.

St. Mark’s the Spot is a deep sapphire metallic. Very pretty and a great formula, opaque in two coats. This is another color we've seen one or two of in other fall collections though.

These are available now at professional salons, Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply and other various retailers now for around $9.50. There are also gel versions available of most of the shades. What do you think of these colors? I really like almost all of them, even though this color range is quite varied and seems a little disjointed. Tell me your thoughts on OPI's Fall collection!
