My Picks from Essie's Bikini So Teeny Collection

I wanted to show you some new Essie polishes, from the Bikini So Teeny collection for summer 2012. I wasn't initially impressed by the press release photos I saw and they didn't exactly overwhelm me when I saw the colors in person at my local Walmart. These are the two polishes from the six in the collection that I decided I needed to try out.

First is the darker pink out of the two in the collection, Off the Shoulder. It's sort of a darker pepto pink color, but I'm not seeing anything special. It's not particularly flattering or bright. Just kind of there. The formula was thick. This is two coats.

Here is All Tied Up, described as a bronze, I'd call it more of a pinky brown muddy shade with subtle gold fleck shimmer. I think I would like this more if the shimmer was more pronounced. It only shows up in full sunlight. This formula was also thick but not as much as the first one. This is two coats.

To be honest, I am unimpressed by these colors. *yawn* Sorry, you know I love my Essies but these are just ho hum. You can find these in local drugstores usually for around $6-8 or from select e-tailers like Transdesign where they are $4.49 each. Have you picked up any polishes from this collection? How do you feel about them?

  3. Off The Shoulder is really pretty on you, but All Tied Up does absolutely nothing for me. This collection was a bit of a "meh" fest for me as well. However I will say that if anybody makes them look good, it's you!

  4. I like Off The Shoulder on you... Nothing too unique but it is pretty for sure! I only ended up getting Bikini So Teeny and I think the shade of blue is to die for!

  5. I bought Biniki So Teeny and Off The Shoulder. I haven't tried them out yet, though... I'm a bit surprised that they put 2 pinks in the collection.

  9. I was pretty meh about the whole collection...then I started seeing better swatches of some, especially the Mojito, then decided I needed some. Buuuuut when I got back to Ulta, I was underwhelmed by them in person and did not buy any! I agree with what another poster said, you make anything look good! :)

  12. I was meh on this collection as well. I didn't pick up any, but I did get fear or Desire from a friend who didn't want his Essie Klout perk! I love your swatches of All Tied Up but I think I'm strong enough to resist! :)

  13. These came and went so fast at my Rite Aide, I did not see but a the pink Off The Shoulder. I did find a Mojito Madness tucked with the regular line Essies - some Rite Aide worker I am sure did not realize it 'lived' on the display for the summer colors and put it there. I am now the owner of that shade but have not tried it yet...was going to put it on my toes this weekend, but opted instead for and older OPI that I have been wanting back on my toes - Flashbulb Fuchsia.
