Glam Polish Alphabet City Collection [Partial] Swatches & Review

Hey there! Today I have a new collection being released on New Year's Day from Australian indie brand Glam Polish. The Alphabet City collection has nine bright ultra holo glitter shades inspired by the characters and songs from the Broadway Musical Avenue Q. I was slightly familiar with the musical but didn't know a ton about it until I got this collection for review; I've since looked into it more and it seems hilarious!

These all are the same style, super holographic with small round holo glitter, all applied excellently, and are opaque in two coats. One coat of top coat was sufficient for me to get a smooth finish. I'm always impressed with Glam Polish formulas, and these are no exception.

It Sucks To Be Me is cornflower blue. I'm obsessed with this color.

Special is fuchsia. This usually isn't my favorite type of shade, but I think it looks excellent in this style.

Not Wearing Underwear is bright aqua turquoise. Stunning and totally my style!

The Internet Is For Pourn is a bright red with a slight pink tone. I'm always dazzled by red holos, and this shade is fantastic.

Mix Tape is an amethyst purple. This is a nice twist instead of the usual bright purples we see.

Schadenfreude is a bright chartreuse. Oh em FREAKING gee! Everyone needs this!

The shades I don't have that complete the collection are: School for Monsters - grass green, Loud As the Hell You Want - bright orange, and The More You Ruv Someone - baby pink. Swatches of these three colors can be seen on my friend Lisa's blog. You can also see more swatches on the Glam Polish Facebook page and as well as photos of their other new collection being released the same day, a trio called The Purple Predicament.

This collection will launch on the Glam Polish website on January 1st at 1pm EST (USA) for $11 each. Shipping to Australia, USA, and France are available on that website; shipping rates to USA are $3.50 USD for the first polish and an extra $1.00 for each additional polish. Other international folks will be able to order from stockists like Harlow & Co and MeiMei's Signatures (no release date for them yet). Let me know what you think of this collection! I've been wearing these in rotation for a few weeks now, they're seriously amazing!

Broadway Fast French Deceptions Falsies

I am borderline obsessed with oval nails these days. I absolutely love how the shape looks on women. Very feminine and sexy. Now every time I try to shape my nails into a more round or pointed shape, I end up scrutinizing every nanometer of the shape and end up hating it. I don't think they are pretty close up in photos, well the kind of photos I post, so it would be pretty dumb to do that shape permanently.

I have pretty much never seen oval or pointed tips in the glue-on falsies kits in the drugstore, so when I saw these Broadway Fast French Deceptions in K-Mart the other day I squee'd and snatched them up.

They were a little longer than I was comfortable with so I ended up taking them off after a day. SMH. I wanted to be ambitious and keep them on as long as possible but I decided it was a futile effort. Oh well, I liked them for the time I wore them. These were about $9 for 24 nails and nail glue, although I prefer to use the sticky grip pads instead as they cause less damage.

Broadway Fashion Diva Chrome Nails

Have you heard of Minx? The hip nail design sensation that has been flashed all over the media, from celebrities to us regular folk. Basically it's a flexible film that adheres to the nail by way of heat, applied by a nail technician in a salon. Their designs are practically limitless and many other companies have taken note of this idea and put a spin on the product so the average woman can get her tips to look as perfect as a professionally applied set of Minx.

Their most popular "design" would probably be their mirror-like gold nails, as seen on singers Beyoncé and Katy Perry. I would RAWK those gold suckers, as you know I la la love my gold! However a sister design, this time in silver is also making it's way around the runways.

*Sigh* what's a girl to do if she doesn't have access to a salon that applies Minx Nails? Or more likely, what if a trendsetting diva just doesn't want to fork over the money that a set would put her back? Well you can imagine my surprised and astonishment when I found out Broadway Nails sells a super awesome set of false nails that have the mirror-like silver/chrome look, for loads less moola!
This pack of Fashion Diva nails comes with 24 nails, both in plain chrome and zebra print chrome. And there are 12 sizes, so you can best fit the tips to your nails. The box is about $5.99, and you definitely know I'm going to get their worth--my nails are unhappy nubbins right now, so I will totally be rocking these for a while until they grow out some. These are "medium" length, but seem a bit long for me. No worries, though, as you can always clip or file them w/o damage. They're supposed to last for 7 days, I hope it's true, because chiiiillllddd these are some fierce talons!

I am impressed with these so far, because they are very comfortable, unlike some other false nails I've tried.  They're very light and easy to apply and I did not have any trouble fitting them to my nail beds.

Would you ever wear these or something similar? I would love them even more if they came in gold! There are lots of different designs from Broadway right now, available in your local CVS, Kmart, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid, and online at www.beautyonlinesupply.com.
