OPI Brights 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I wanted to show you the OPI Brights collection they put out for the end of spring going into the summer season. This is a collection of nine shades, three of which are repromotes from last year's neon collection.

Can't Hear Myself Pink is a soft strawberry pink foil with metallic shimmer bits. This is semi-sheer, it needs three coats for opacity. The coats can gum up on each other so let it dry a few minutes longer than normal between coats to prevent that.

Down to the Core-al is one of the repromoted shades from last year. It's a stunning bright firey coral with red shimmer but it is a little difficult to apply. I had patchiness and needed a third coat to even it out fully.

Hotter Than You Pink is a cool toned pink with lots of flat shimmer and a blue-ish flash to it. It was a little streaky so it needed three coats. It dries satiny so a top coat is necessary for shine.

I Sea You Wear OPI has the same formula as Can't Hear Myself Pink, it's on the sheer side and opaque in three coats. It's alright, but not my favorite shade.

I STOP for Red is a red pepper colored jelly crème. It has some orangey-ness to it but it's subtle. This had a pretty good formula, not hard to control and opaque in two coats.

Life Gave Me Lemons is the last shade that was repromoted from last year. It's a lemon lime pale neon crème. It is on the chalky side which isn't surprising for this type of color. Three coats. You could get away with two over a white base, but that's still three coats of color so it seems unnecessary because it doesn't really brighten or intensify this shade. I like this color a lot.

My Car Has Navy-gation is a navy jelly crème. It was kinda thick and I had to mix up my bottle before the first use, it seemed very separated on my brush but I couldn't tell in the bottle. I used two coats and had some bubbling, most likely due to having to mix it right before application. I'd advise to do your mixing a good amount of time before you apply it.

On Pinks & Needles is a matte medium pink hexagonal glitter topper in varying sizes in a clear base. I put one coat over Life Gave Me Lemons. (The pink threw off the color with the neon base so it looks like a lighter yellow.) I really liked this glitter, it's unique to my collection and it has great glitter payoff without being too base heavy. You can really get creative pairing this with different base colors; I have seen it layered over Navy-gation with beautiful results.

Last is The Berry Thought of You, a nice berry purpley magenta jelly crème. This has a very shiny and juicy finish without top coat. It has a very nice application and is opaque in two coats.

You can purchase these for $9.50 each. They are available at Ulta, Sally Beauty Supply, and professional salons. There is also a mini set available with six of the shades: Hotter Than You Pink, Can't Hear Myself Pink!, Down To The Core-al, Life Gave Me Lemons, I Sea You Wear OPI, and My Car Has Navy-gation for about $22 depending on where you purchase from.

Let me know what you think of this year's Brights selection! I have to admit, my favorites are the repromoted ones from last year but the best formula goes to the berry shade. The pink glitter is a nice change of pace too so that is a win. Tell me your favorite out of this collection! Talk to you again soon :)
