More Glam Polish Swatches & Review

Happy #ManiMonday everyone! I have three new to me lacquers from Glam Polish that I wanted to show you today. Two were purchased from my friend Jen (The PolishAholic) during her recent grab bag sale and one I picked up randomly from the Glam Polish website.

Hey Mama is the first one from Jen. This came out in the Hairspray collection that debuted this January. It is a gorgeous girly pink holographic with glass flecks throughout. This was two easy coats. Very smooth and quite opaque, I love it!

Next is Mystify from the White Witch collection that came out in early Spring this year. I picked this one up at the same time as Glam Batch #5 that I showed you a few posts ago. It is a unique pale lemon lime scattered holographic crelly with chunky holographic glitter. This one was on the thin side even with all that glitter and I thought I might have to do three coats but it covered fine in just two.

And last is Welcome To The 60's, also from Jen and also from the Hairspray collection. I was so lucky to get this in my grab bag because it's been on my wishlist for a while! This is a cool gold holographic microglitter with warm red and matte white hex glitters. It was lovely to apply, not too chunky for the amount of glitter which was nice. This gave me full coverage in only two coats.

Nicole by OPI Coca-Cola Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks! I have a Nicole by OPI collection to share with you today! This is a collaboration with Coca-Cola that came out this Spring. There are six shades that each correspond with a different flavor of their soda. Let's take a look!

Press Sample

First is Always A Classic Coca-Cola, a glowy warm red metallic. The formula is good, but to avoid brushstrokes be careful not to press down with your brush too hard, do more of a floating motion over the nail and you'll get liquid metal!

DC Lover is the Diet Coke themed shade, it's a silver foil with small red hex glitters. This one is more sheer, so you can layer it or build it up on its own like I've done here in three coats.

This is In Grape Demand, for their Fanta Grape soda. It's a red toned purple crème that covers in two coats. It's on the thin side so be careful not to load up your brush with too much polish or you might get pooling on the sides of your nail.

Seriously Citrus is inspired by Sprite. It is a glitter topper with green, white, blue, pale green and pale blue hex glitters in various sizes in a clear base. I layered one coat over turquoise crème China Glaze Rain Dance the Night Away, which turned out really nice.

The polish made for Fanta Orange is The Look Is Orange. It's a bright crayola orange crème with an ok formula. It was a bit patchy for me on two coats so I used three.

Last is Zero Is My Hero, made to relate to Coke Zero. This is a deep warm cola brown with red microshimmer. This had a fabulous formula, almost a one-coater but I used two.

Nicole by OPI can be purchased from retailers like Target, CVS, Walgreens, Ulta, etc. What do you think of this collection? I'm a Pepsi drinker, Diet if anyone is keeping track, but I can still appreciate these shades for sure haha. They were mostly all lovely, save the orange if I'm honest. I think I have a new favorite red metallic!

OPI Soft Shades 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hey babes! Are you into nudes?? The colors I mean ;) Neutrals? Bridal shades? Then this collection is for you! The OPI Soft Shades 2015 collection brings us six new light and soft lacquers for the tail-end of Spring/beginning of Summer. Let's see how these stack up shall we?

Act Your Beige! is a milky pale slightly beige cream color. This was pretty streaky for me on the first two coats. This is three, and while you can still see my nail line I'd call this pretty opaque. I like this, even after having to kinda finesse it. I never think that I like the demure nail look until I am wearing it, then I don't want to take it off.

Next is Make Light of the Situation, one coat over Act Your Beige!. It's a stunning crystal-like shimmer and glitter topper, it's iridescent nirvana! This would be such a great bridal manicure, it's a very dainty and delicate look but with that somethin' somethin'. You could build this up on it's own if you wanted to, it's got great glitter payoff.

This gal is called Chiffon My Mind, a shimmery white. The shimmer is sorta duochromey from silver to blue and purple in certain lights but it doesn't really translate to the nail as well as I had hoped. This was quite streaky for me, I used three coats and it still didn't self-level very well. It's kind of a fail for me.

Put It In Neutral is next, another sheer milky shade, but this one is a pinky nude. I love this color, it reminds me a little of some shades in the Color Club Shift Into Neutral collection I showed you not too long ago, maybe a little more feminine. This was a little streaky, better than Act Your Beige! but I still had to use three coats to even it out.

Here we have Petal Soft, a clear based topper with matte pale pink and white hex glitters in different sizes and large matte white flower shaped pieces. I got a good amount of the hexes out upon swiping my nail, but I had to fish to get any flowers. This is two coats over Put It In Neutral. This got a little thick for my taste because of all the coats. I might layer this over something different if I wear it again.

Last is This Silver's Mine, a silver leaning pewter frost metallic. In my notes for this color I have in capital letters "BRUSHSTROKES!" haha. I don't necessarily think brushstrokes are the final word in a polish being crap, at all. This however just doesn't work for me. I like the idea of it, but if only it were smooth! You have to paint your last coat on super perfectly and straight or else it's going to look bad, no buts about it. Two coats.

This collection should be out in stores like Sally Beauty, Ulta and professional salons now, retail price is $9.50 each. I usually end up liking the Soft Shades a bit more than the ones in this collection, but I would say Make Light of the Situation is an absolute MUST have. Seriously, you need it. Rescue Beauty Lounge Je t'aime! Je t'aime! Collection Swatches & Review

--UPDATED: Now including the two other colors from the collection!--

Good morning! It's Rescue Beauty Lounge time yet again! They have a new collection out inspired by Parisian farmers markets called Je t'aime! Je t'aime! (I love you! I love you!). Be sure to check out the official Rescue Beauty Lounge blog post to learn more about the inspiration behind the collection here. This is a six shade collection, but two of the shades are unfortunately not ready yet. However, RBL wanted to release these four now anyway. The other two will be out in mid April (I think). Let's check these pretties out shall we?

First up is Ah, Oui which translates to "ah, yes". It's a springy bright periwinkle jelly crème that I'm seriously gaga over. This is actually a bit more vibrant in real life, photos cannot do it justice. I have honestly been obsessing over periwinkles this spring and even though I have a few favorites, this might beat them all. It's so shiny and squishy looking, but has a great opaque formula. This is two coats.

Next is Bonne Journee, "good day". It's a cool medium pink rose metallic with tiny subtle bits of copper sparkle.This had a thin formula but was easy to apply. It does turn out a little brushstrokey. I used three coats for full opacity. This isn't a color I would choose for myself, even being a pink lover, but I ended up liking how it looked on the nail.

Here we have C'est Tout, or "that's all". This is a gunmetal grey/silver metallic with a hint of green and sparkly bits of pink, blue and gold. It really does look like liquid metal. This has a fabulous formula, you might be able to get it opaque in one coat, but I used two here. It's a little more brushstrokey than I care for, and I don't know if the color suits me particularly well.

This is Pardonne Moi, a chic way to say "excuse me". It's a gorgeous metallic indigo with purple flashing at the edges. In low light this looks very sleek and duochromey, but outside in full sun it transforms into a brilliant foily shimmer. A thin but manageable formula, this is three coats. The brushstrokes in this one appear to almost melt away when this dries, which I really liked.

You can see in the shade photo how smooth it appears in lower lights, and how the purple comes peeking out.

This is Combien?, which means "How much?" - a saying I'm sure you'd definitely need while visiting Paris :) It's a beige gold glass flecky sugary shimmer metallic with hints of pink. RBL says this dries down to a matte finish but the finish doesn't make that super apparent. It's not really my favorite shade but it has a great formula, applies very easily. Two coats.

And last in the collection is Trois Oignons Rouges, meaning "three red onions". I personally detest onions with the fire of a thousand suns, but red onions are pretty gorgeous. This is a magenta purple jelly that dries to a rubbery satin-y finish. It was sort of streaky on the second coat but it evened out nicely on the third. I love this shade!

I wanted to show how it looked shiny, so this is it with a top coat. I might love it even more this way! You can still sort of see the whites of my free edge, but such is life with a jelly polish.

Cirque Colors The Metropolis Collection April 2015 Swatches & Review

Hey there! Today we have some new colors from Cirque Colors for April to add to their Metropolis collection! These are perfect for Spring and fit in with the rest of the great crèmes in the anthology. Let's take a look :)

Vigo is an "orchid pink", it's very smooth and shiny. I tend not to go for this type of shade in general, but they do look very pretty on the nail. This will probably be a really great pedicure color for me! Two easy coats.

Sunset Park is a sweet coral orangey crème. I actually had a little bit of streaking with this one unfortunately, but was able to level it off with three coats. I haven't heard of anyone else having issues with this one so it might've just been my application that day, who knows. Either way, it's a great shade for this time of year!

Color Club Spring 2015 Shift Into Neutral Collection Swatches & Review

Greetings friends! I am doing really well today, in case you read my previous post about my sick kitty, he's doing much, much better! Yay for healthy fur babies! I have a collection from Color Club called Shift Into Neutral to show you today. It's a gathering of seven neutrals, that actually would be great for palette cleansers with all the neons that are coming out for this summer. I'll give you a hint now, I love them.

First is Barely There, a nudey beige crelly. Fabulous formula and opaque in two coats, which was surprising for this type of finish. This might be my new go-to nude shade!

Blank Canvas is a squishy white crelly. It's not stark white, more on the soft marshmallowy side. It's not streaky, surprisingly, but I did need three coats for complete opacity. You could do two if you don't mind your nail line showing. I didn't really need another white polish, but I ended up liking this a lot and I'm glad I have it.

This gal is Blush Crush, a milky, very pale pink crelly. This is more jelly-ish than the others, making it more sheer. It was still looking a little streaky on three coats and you can definitely see my nail line, but it was getting a little thick so I didn't do another coat. This isn't my favorite.

Next is Get a Mauve On It, a tan-ish muted mauve jelly crème. This is more of a brown toned mauve rather than a pink or purple like most I own. I think this is a great neutral. It reminds me of Zoya Bridgette but less pink. Great formula, great opacity, two coats.

Midnight Mulberry is a plummy dusty purple jelly crème. This is darker than I expected to see in a Spring collection, but it somehow fits in well. This also had a fabulous formula, I used two coats here.

And here we have New-tral, a soft dusty putty pink crème. This was a surprise favorite for me, a perfect girly fresh color. It's one of those pale shades that make me look really tan and ya gotta love that haha! Amazing coverage, almost a one coater. This is two. I can see myself wearing this a lot.

Last we have Sweet Mint, my second favorite of the collection. It's a soft pale warm mint green with some hidden icy shimmer. I love this and it's actually different than any other green mint that I have in my collection which is awesome. This is two coats.

These are available on the Color Club website for $8.50 each. I also know they are stocked at some e-tailers like Head2ToeBeauty and HB Beauty Bar (though I have never ordered from HB). I really enjoyed this collection, it's a great gathering of soft work appropriate colors and there is only one I would skip (Blush Crush). What do you think of these gorgeous soft neutrals?

Sunny's Body Products Spring 2015 Box Review

Hi folks! Today I have a bath and body product review for you, specifically of the Sunny's Body Products Spring seasonal box. There are 10 products in the box, most of them are full size. The products have exclusive scents created for this season that are not sold regularly in her store. I heard about Sunny's brand back when she was a polish maker (365 Days of Color), but she has since decided to focus completely on her body products. My friend Jen the PolishAholic loves this brand and her reviews of the last few seasonal boxes pushed me over the edge to get this one.

First up is the Intensive Cuticle Therapy Oil in the scent Spring Rain, a "musky accord enhanced with a fresh floral bouquet of carnations, tiger lillies, alyssum, orchids, and roses, with hints of fresh greenery". I get a lot of the carnation from this and the greenery. I really like it. This is one of my favorite products she makes, it's so lush and feels like such a treat for my cuticles. It has an eye-dropper type applicator.

Next is the Cuticle Oil in the scent Sun Moon Stars described as "fresh green notes of clover and ivy followed by notes of jasmine, and vetiver. Bottom notes of green stem notes." I think the jasmine and ivy come out the most in this, it's nice but I don't love it. I like the feel of her cuticle oils, they have a roller ball applicator and sink in quickly.

Her All Over Body Balm is in the scent Rainbow, a "unique fragrance beginning with top notes of pear, green grapes, kiwi, raspberry and peach; followed by middle notes of jasmine and lily of the valley with a base note of white musk". It's super fruity with a touch of floral. This is a newer product from her store, you can use it on your elbows, heels, knees, or as a cuticle balm, or even a solid perfume. I quite enjoy it and will probably get this product in more scents.

The Lip Balm is scented like Honeysuckle Mandarin, "a fresh blend of sweet blooming honeysuckle and juicy ripe sour mandarins". I freaking love this scent, both honeysuckle and mandarin are some of my favorites, but unfortunately I don't care for the formula. It's very creamy but too waxy for me and tastes perfumey. I've tried one other lip balm from her in a different scent and it was the same so it wasn't a fluke. I'll stick with my Burt's Bees for my lip needs.

The Hand Butter is scented as Butterfly Flower, described as having fresh ozone notes, lily and sage, tones of cassis, sweet amber and crisp orange flower with a base of musk. That sounds pretty complex, but I mostly smell the ozone and sage. Very fresh and very "spring"! The consistency is super thick and imo best to use before bed as it takes a while to sink in.

Her Miracle Balm is called Chance, a "blend of citron, water hyacinth, jasmine, iris, teakwood, vetiver, patchouli, amber, and white musk". This is probably the lightest scent in the box, very crisp and airy. My second favorite, it's so pleasing! This is also a fabulous product, I think it's her most popular. It's a smooth and very moisturizing cuticle balm that really works.

The Sugar Scrub is in the scent April Showers, "fresh powder, light musk, and just a hint of fresh spring flowers of lavender, jasmine, and tulips". This smells like straight up laundry detergent to me. Not my favorite for sure. It's a new-to-me product from Sunny, I love scrubs and this one has a great formula.

Her Bath Whip has a Clean Crisp Air scent, described as "top notes of fresh clover and ivy. Middle notes of baby's breath, periwinkle, and lily of the valley. Base notes of ozony fresh notes". Unfortunately this is the scent I liked the least, the clover and lily is overpowering to me. I was looking forward to trying this product but I don't think I will be able to get past the scent on this, I'll probably pass it along.

The On the Go Hand Lotion has the scent Breezes and Sunshine, "top notes of blood orange blossoms and sea waves; followed by rose, and sitting on base notes of sea lily flowers and woody notes". From the worst to the best, this is absolutely my favorite of the box. I really love the combo of the florals with the soft citrus, it's so delicate and soft. This is another of my favorite products, an easily absorbed light lotion that moisturizes well. I have another one of these in my purse right now haha.

And last is the Triple Thick Body Cream with the scent Innocence, "top notes of powdery peony petals, romantic alyssum, jasmine, and fresh strawberries. Bottom notes of lily of the valley, Egyptian musk, and vanilla beans". This reminds me of a Lush product scent but I can't quite place which one. I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but after it sinks in the skin and dries down a bit I really liked it. I mostly smell the peony, musk, and vanilla. This is another new product to me, its consistency is in between the on the go lotion and the hand butter. I like it for my legs and feet. I will definitely be getting it in more scents.

I mentioned I have tried some of her products before, but it was cool to get to try so many at once and to be surprised by the scents so I'll probably continue to get the seasonal boxes. I purchased this from her website http://www.365daysofcolorpolishes.com/ for $34. I liked the majority of the scents and I like most of the products, so I would call it a win! China Glaze Road Trip Collection Travel Sized Swatches & Review

Hey! I'm back from vacation and still kinda exhausted haha, but I had a good time. I have a mini version of the China Glaze Road Trip collection to show you today! The collection has twelve shades all together, but I found this set called "Travel Sized" with six of the colors in a "micro mini" size for sale so I purchased it. I wasn't sure if I needed the entire collection, so this was a nice compromise for me.

I Brake For Colour is a bright orangey coraly red crème. My brush had a lot of wonky bristles so it was difficult to put on, but under regular circumstances I'm sure the formula would've been great. I used three coats here but you'd probably only need two with a non-messed up brush.

This is Dashboard Dreamer, a powder blue crelly with coppery pink shimmer. This one was streaky and patchy, but it's so pretty I almost don't care haha! This is three coats.

Next is Pinking Out The Window, a bright salmon crème. This one was a little streaky and thick. Three coats here.

Now Boho Blues is a must have for sure, a soft periwinkle blue jelly crème (more crème than jelly). It's got a pretty good formula, but this was another one where the brush was all wonky so it was more challenging. This is three coats, but with a normal brush I'm sure you could make do with only two.

My Way Or The Highway is a green-y tealish turquoise jelly crème. I love shades like this. It's fabulous and very shiny, pretty good formula. Two coats.

And last is Trip Of A Lime Time, which is the shade I was least in love with in seeing promo shots for this collection, but in real life it's pretty cool. Chartreuse is a hard color to pull off, but this is almost kinda delicate which makes it prettier to me. It is a jelly crème and was on the streaky side, so I needed three coats.

I purchased this set of minis from Ulta.com for $12. I love that these were offered in a mini size, but I think I prefer their regular minis sized at 0.325 fl oz  instead of these micro mini bottles at 0.125 fl oz, just for ease of application. Especially considering two of the bottles had bad brushes in them. I honestly probably would've returned them if I hadn't purchased these online and/or had an Ulta near me. Zoya Spring 2015 Delight Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks, today I wanted to show you the Zoya Spring collection called Delight. It's a six shade collection of pastel-ish "eastery" shades that are right at home in this season. There are three crèmes and three shimmery shades that compliment each other really well. Let's find out how they worked for me!

This is Daisy, described as a lemon yellow metallic shimmer with a turquoise flash. I like this color, but the formula was pretty streaky. It's kinda runny which made it pool in my cuticles more than once and when I did clean up around the edges, the teeny shimmery glitter bits went all over my skin. It took a lot to get them off :( This is three coats.

Next we have Eden, a floral-like pink crème. This one was creamy but didn't self-level for me, which isn't my favorite thing. This is two coats.

This gal is called Leslie, she's a lavender metallic shimmer with a turquoise flash. I normally love lavenders so this one was an automatic winner in the color department for me. It was creamier than Daisy but still on the runny side. This is two coats.

Lillian is a pastel aqua blue crème. Same formula as Eden, but I ended up needing three coats to cover streaks. I love this color but was disappointed in the formula.

Here is Rayne, a really fabulous dewy spring blue metallic shimmer with a turquoise flash. This would be my favorite but the runny formula just is not working for me on these. Three coats.

Last is Tiana, a pistachio spring baby green crème. I got this covered in two coats, but it was also non self-leveling, making application more difficult than it had to be. Gorgeous color though right?

I know pastels are pretty commonly hard to get great formulas with, but I am just not impressed with the usability of these. However, I've heard from a lot of my fellow polish lovers that most of these worked out well for them, so it could just be me haha.

These are available for purchase on Zoya.com for $9 each. They are also being offered in mini bottles right now for $5 each, though I don't know for how long. What do you think of these springy shades? Spring might be my least favorite season for color palettes, but I know a lot of people adore them.
