Illamasqua Scarab

I cannot express in words how much I love this nail polish. Illamasqua Scarab it literally the most perfect red polish that I own. It's a very atypical red, unlike any I own. It's from the Art of Darkness collection by Illamasqua from Fall 2010, but it looks like you can still get it at Sephora. A scarab is a beetle that was revered in ancient Egypt and, don't quote me on this, but I believe it means "transformation". Which is just cool.

Scarab is a rubyish-copper hued red that has intense shimmer that looks very lustrous even with its blackened base. It almost pulls towards a metallic finish but paints on easier. It's very velvety. *sigh* I am in serious amour with this baby. This is two coats.
I got this in a swap with the beautiful Suzanne from DeltaCephei, thanks again doll!

  3. I own 5 polishes from this brand. Sadly this isn't one of them. It is a beautiful shade on you. Must add this to the long list of polishes for this brand.

  6. Yes, this one is very pretty. I have seen it at the Sephora store near me just a couple of weeks ago so I bet it is still available. I almost bought this one, but thought I needed Baptiste more and I had to have Ruthless, (another red)because it is my namesake. The green metallic Veridian came out at the same time as scarab and it looks nice too. Good brand. Thanks for the swatch.

  9. I'm on the fence about this guy...I think I'm afraid it will look frosty. It looks incredible on you, though, so I'll take a second look!

  10. Oh, I love this one! It's been on my wishlist for ages, along with the green-y one they released at the same time (whose name escapes me at the moment - Viridian?).
