SuperChic Lacquer Urban Dictionary Collection Swatches & Review

Hi friends! Today I have a new collection from indie brand SuperChic Lacquer, the Urban Dictionary collection of eight superholo shades. They are described as "fierce color depth shades with intense linear holographic effects." I used a good base coat on all of these to prevent staining, I prefer the SuperChic Bring It On! stain blocking/color bonding base coat.

Rum-Billie is a warm spiced rum linear holographic. Awesomely robust, opaque in one coat and easy to apply. This is a unique shade to my collection, I can't get over it's hotness!
SuperChic Lacquer Rum-Billie

Trap Queen is a vibrant raspberry holographic. This gal is also a one coater, yay! Did you immediately start singing that song? Because I did :)
SuperChic Lacquer Trap Queen

Zombie Crush is a dark blackened blood purple holographic. Great formula, super pigmented. I got a little of this in my cuticle and it ended up staining my skin, so take care! One coater here.
SuperChic Lacquer Zombie Crush

Wonderwall is an intense pale champagne gold holographic. There is a teal tinge to this that is quite subtle, but it's definitely there. This is the only shade in the collection where two coats were necessary for full coverage.
SuperChic Lacquer Wonderwall

Awkward Turtle is a gorgeous muted olive green holographic. I was hoping for a green in the SuperChic intense holo formula, so I was really excited to see this! Another fabulous one coater.
SuperChic Lacquer Awkward Turtle

Rosebuddy is a pale pink intense holographic. This is almost a rose gold but is more pink than the almost coppery shade I think of for a rose gold. Due to it's lighter color I really thought I would need two coats, but one really did cover my nail completely!
SuperChic Lacquer Rosebuddy

Deadpool is a dark ocean-at-night blue holographic. Who doesn't love a dark blue for fall? One coat wonder.
SuperChic Lacquer Deadpool

Awesome Sauce is an intense rich dark chocolate holographic. I'm loving all the brown shades that are coming out this year and this is no exception. This is a one coat shade as well.
SuperChic Lacquer Awesome Sauce

This collection, along with SuperChic's other intense holos, the Dreamology collection, will be available for pre-order today September 26th at 4pm PST (USA) on the SuperChic Lacquer website. All polishes are $12 each. Let me know what you think of all of these holo babes!

SuperChic Lacquer Project Runway Collection Swatches & Review

Hi folks! I have the Project Runway collection from SuperChic Lacquer to show you today! I've had these swatches done for a while, they came out a while ago, but SuperChic's shop has been closed for a bit so I didn't want to post them while they were gone. They've been back since the beginning of the month, but I had posts scheduled so I couldn't fit them in before now. These are super opaque holographic shades, combining holo pigment and microglitter in a one-coat formula.

All of these have the same formula, thick and super glittery but surprisingly easy to apply. I used one coat for all of the swatches plus a layer of their new Marvel Plush velveteen top coat, which is designed to smooth out rough glitter, and a layer of shiny top coat (because Marvel Plush dries matte).

On Point is a silver metallic holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer On Point

Boots On The Ground is a muted military green holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Boots On the Ground

Material Girl is a pink raspberry holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Material Girl

Take The Plunge is mermaid green holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Take the Plunge

Skin Tight is a muted rose quartz pink holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Skin Tight

Own It is a vivid sky blue holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Own It

Make It Work is an intense chartreuse holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer Make It Work

She Wears The Pants is a muted dark amethyst holographic microglitter.
SuperChic Lacquer She Wears the Pants

These are available for purchase on the SuperChic Lacquer website for $11 each. The Marvel Plush topcoat is a revelation for super chunky glitters and I love it. It sells for $7.50. Let me know what you think of these glitter-rific shades! Are you a Project Runway fan? I admit I've never seen it, oops! You'll notice that SuperChic has changed their bottles again to these new large square ones, which I like and are easier to hold than their previous diamond-y squares or the round ones. Talk to you again soon cookies!

SuperChic Lacquer Winter/Holiday 2015 Collections Swatches & Review

Hi folks! I have another indie collection to show you today, in fact, I have two! SuperChic Lacquer has come out with two fun collections for the Winter/Holiday season. The first is their Once Upon a Diamond collection of seven sparkly texture glitters with genuine diamond crystals. The second is a trio of glitters called the Ugly Sweater Party.

Before we look at the polish, I would like to apologize for the weirdness of my hand pose in these swatches. The new SuperChic Lacquer bottle shape threw me off my game. (This isn't even how I imagined them being cropped. *le sigh*) I believe their old bottles were discontinued; the new bottles are round globes with tapered white caps with grooves. They are super retro and pretty cute, but I obviously didn't figure out how to hold them for photos yet haha. Here's hoping for a better job next time :P

Captured Teardrop has a sky blue jelly base with a mix of shiny and holographic glitters. All the Once Upon a Diamond textures had the same formula (except one), they're easy to apply with a ton of glitter payoff and are opaque in two coats. Since they are textured, I did not apply a top coat. If you wanted them glossy, you'd need a layer or two of thick top coat.
SuperChic Lacquer Captured Teardrop

Chronicles of the Dreamcatcher has a nudey gold base packed full of silver and gold glitters. There are a variety of metallic and holographic pieces, even some triangles and shards. Two coats here. This has a lighter base, so you may want to do three coats, or even layer it over a solid color, but I liked the way it looked with two.
SuperChic Lacquer Chronicles of the Dreamcatcher

Crown Jewels of Enchantment has a clear base with metallic and holographic silver glitters, along with the diamond crystals. This one is meant to be a topper, it can be layered over any color. I put one coat on top of a deep burgundy purple, FingerPaints Film Noir.
SuperChic Lacquer Crown Jewels of Enchantment

Embellishing Regina has an opaque black jelly base packed with silver and red glitters in various shapes and sizes. I spy lots of squares in this! Two coats for her as well.
SuperChic Lacquer Embellishing Regina

Notions of Ariel has a mermaid-y teal jelly base with silver glitters and blue/purple microshimmer bits. Squares, triangles in this one as well! Two coats.
SuperChic Lacquer Notions of Ariel

Swan of Adorned Darkness has an opaque black jelly base with silver and gold glitters. This has a gorgeous mix of the two metals, looking more gold or silver depending on the lighting. Two coats.
SuperChic Lacquer Swan of Adorned Darkness

Wish Upon A Wisp has a dark blue that leans slightly purple jelly base with silver glitters and a bit of violet iridescence. This was also two coats.
SuperChic Lacquer Wish Upon A Wisp

That's all for the Once Upon a Diamond collection, so next we have the Ugly Sweater Party!

All Flocked Up has got a sheer milky white base packed with matte white, grey, metallic silver and holographic glitters in various shapes and sizes and some shimmer flakes. I layered one coat over a white crème, Pretty Serious Presence. You can build this up by itself, but I found it was a little thick by itself, so I preferred using it as a topper.
SuperChic Lacquer All Flocked Up

Bright Shiny Sweater Balls is a mix of matte white, grey, red, pink, pale yellow, orange, metallic and holographic silver glitters in squares and hexes in a various sizes in a clear base. I wore one coat over a dark green crème, OPI Christmas Gone Plaid.  Excellent glitter payoff. I had to do some manipulation to place the glitter where I wanted, but nothing out of the ordinary.
SuperChic Lacquer Bright Shiny Sweater Balls

"Mr. Hankey" Every Party Needs A Pooper has a sheer brown jelly base packed with matte white, black, red, dark green, light green glitters in various shapes and sizes and metallic copper microglitter. I heard this was meant to be a stand alone polish, but it seemed too sheer to be opaque on its own, so I layered two coats over a dark brown crème, OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys. I didn't think I'd like this that much, but it is actually really pretty! And the name is hilarious.
SuperChic Lacquer "Mr. Hankey" Every Party Needs A Pooper

I wanted to mention that I noticed all of these seemed to separate very easily so I need to shake them up pretty well before I applied them. You can see a really great live swatch and review video on YouTube by my friend Jess of all these shades to see them in action if you are interested.

All of these polishes will be released on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 4pm PST on the SuperChic Lacquer website and their Etsy store. The Diamond polishes are priced at $12 and I think the Ugly Sweater trio should be $10 each. Tell me what you think about these shades! Are you thinking of picking any of them up?

SuperChic Lacquer Dreamology Collection Swatches & Review

Heeeeeyyy good lookin! Happy weekend :) Today I have the new SuperChic Lacquer Dreamology collection to show you! These are described as "power shades having fierce color depth with intense linear holographic effects" that are totally opaque in one coat!

They are highly saturated so there was a warning that they may cause staining, especially on porous nails. I used two coats of SuperChic Lacquer base coat Bring It On, formulated especially to prevent staining, and I didn't have any problems with these staining my nails. They still can stain your skin though, so be careful to pull straight down your nail with your remover soaked cotton ball when removing the polish to prevent this. These all had similar to basically identical formulas, and all truly were completely opaque in one coat!

Wake Me Up is a deep berry linear holographic.
SuperChic Lacquer Wake Me Up

Lucid Lala Land is an intense dreamy blue linear holographic.
SuperChic Lacquer Lucid Lala Land

R.E.M. is a black linear holographic. This was the only one that was a little different, it had a slightly thicker consistency.
SuperChic Lacquer R.E.M.

Realm of Erotica is a racy red linear holographic.
SuperChic Lacquer Realm of Erotica

40 Winks is an intense violet purple linear holographic.
SuperChic Lacquer 40 Winks

No Rest For the Wicked is a brilliant emerald green linear holographic.
SuperChic Lacquer No Rest For the Wicked

Also new to the SCL line up is Marvel-Star top coat. It's a "neon luminescent" UV reactive quick dry top coat. I already love their Marvel Liquid Macro quick dry top coat and this is a fun twist on that great product. It's smooth and thin and flows on to the nail nicely without flooding your cuticles. I wish I had a black light to test this out! I used this on all my swatches of these and it really made them pop, however I didn't realize until I finished my swatches that it gave a slight blue tint to a few of these colors, because I swatch in direct sunlight and there are UV rays in sunlight of course. The black, red and green all look slightly more blue toned than they do indoors with this top coat on.

You will be able to purchase these from the SuperChic Lacquer website and Etsy store on September 30th at 4pm PST for $10 each. What do you think of these sexy one coat wonders?? I am quite impressed with them! My favorite has to be Wake Me Up, I don't think I have an equal color in my collection. We'll talk to you again soon! I have some exciting things coming up :D

SuperChic Lacquer High Voltage Collection Swatches & Review

You're going to be positively invigorated by what I've got to show you today! SuperChic Lacquer is at it again, concocting some of the most fabulous lacquers out in the indie polish world right now. Their newest collection is called High Voltage and is made up of 8 neon chrome holographics. Yep, all those three words happen to describe these beauties and it equals GOOD STUFF!

All of these have the same formula so I'll just mention that first. They are incredibly easy to use. They apply like butter and are that perfect consistency between thick and thin so you can easily get super close to your cuticles without getting any pooling or dragging. They were all opaque in two coats; they dry satin-y matte so you'll need a top coat for maximum glossy-ness. I used SuperChic Lacquer's own Marvel Liquid Macro top coat.

Jolt is a blue toned purple. Stunning with a really strong holo rainbow!
SuperChic Lacquer Jolt High Voltage

This is Live Wire, a lime green. This is perfect for spring!
SuperChic Lacquer Live Wire High Voltage

Here is the first of three blues in the collection, Short Circuit. It's a hot ocean blue that's bound to flatter anyone.
SuperChic Lacquer Short Circuit High Voltage

Hot Finger is one of my absolute favorites of the collection, it's a warm rosy pink.
SuperChic Lacquer Hot Finger High Voltage

The polish with the best name in the collection is Electrifried, get it? Fried? Haha, I'm an easy to please person ;) This is a slightly mustardy lemon yellow.
SuperChic Lacquer Electrifried High Voltage

Splice is a turquoise blue that totally makes me think of summer and hanging out at the pool!
SuperChic Lacquer Splice

I wasn't sure I was going to like Reverse Polarity at first glance, but I actually love it! It's a coppery tangerine orange.
SuperChic Lacquer Reverse Polarity High Voltage

Last is Tripped, a radiant blue with a hint of deep periwinkle. This looked pretty close to Jolt in indoor lighting in the bottle, but they are very obviously different on the nail.
SuperChic Lacquer Tripped High Voltage

This collection goes on sale today, May 8 at 4 pm PST for $10 each on their Etsy site and their website SuperChicLacquer.com. There are a lot of bloggers & vloggers that have a 10% off code for ya, if you search for one you can save a little bit on these babies! Tell me which colors you are loving from this awesome collection! I can't say enough about them, they are all winners :)

Xoxo!

SuperChic Lacquer Serendipity Collection Swatches & Review

Hi kittens! Today I have a new collection from SuperChic Lacquer to show ya! It's called the Serendipity collection and it consists of eight new "dewy day-glow" neon pastels and one holographic top coat. I swatched each color and, since they dry semi-matte, used a shiny top coat, then layered two coats of the holo over my ring fingernail. The crèmes all had similar formulas so I'll discuss that toward the end. They all make me look super tan too so I thought I'd mention that ;)

First up is Cause & Effect, described as a "stunning cross between a tangy tangerine and pink grapefruit". Indoors this looked completely orange to me, but in bright light it does have more of a pink tone than I thought. Love this! I applied the holo tc a little unevenly as you can see, but I didn't notice until I went to edit these photos :(
SuperChic Lacquer Cause & Effect

Crystal Blue Persuasion is a "heavenly ethereal crystal blue". Sky blues look good on everyone. So you need this!
SuperChic Lacquer Crystal Blue Persuasion

Next we have Dumb Luck, a "jaw-dropping most incredible retro green". Uh, this is right on, so retro and I love it!
SuperChic Lacquer Dumb Luck

This is Happenstance, an "over-the-top hot popping bubblegum pink". It seems to have more of a slight purple tone on the nail than it does in the bottle. It's just adorable, reminds me of cupcakes.
SuperChic Lacquer Happenstance

Here comes Law of Nature, a "lush citrusy lemon yellow". Pastel yellows are hard to do well usually, but this one is pretty painless! Yellow is such a happy color :)
SuperChic Lacquer Law of Nature

Nothing Ventured is not a neon, it's a "sultry silvery light to medium gray". At first I would've told you that joint don't belong in this collection, but I just don't care! It's awesome and way prettier on than I expected.
SuperChic Lacquer Nothing Ventured

This gal is Pleasant Surprise, a "most luscious retro teal blue". Another retro color?! Yes please! I imagine if I lived in the 50's this would be the color of a lot of my kitchen appliances.
SuperChic Lacquer Pleasant Surprise

Synchronicity is the last of the crèmes and it might just be my favorite. It's more low key than the others in terms of neon-icity but it's still quite bright. It's described as "an amazing electrified grape". Everyone needs this.
SuperChic Lacquer Synchronicity

All of these apply mostly the same, they are semi-matte so they dry quickly. They have a thin formula which could make for some streaky-ness. You'll need two coats, possibly three depending on your application. I used two coats for all of them except for the yellow & orange, which needed three. There is a pearly shimmer to them all (hence, the dewy moniker) that subtly twinkles when they are in their matte state, but really pops out with top coat. One layer of the holographic top coat might be a better way to go when layering, as it does get a little grey on some of them at two, but it looked good on all of them. My favorite holo + color combo is with Pleasant Surprise.

Ride The Neon Rainbow is meant to be a layering top coat, but I wanted to try it on its own for kicks. It totally works! It looks brilliant and very blingy. It's thin but easy to work with. If you want complete and total opacity you might use one more coat, but it looked good to me at three.
SuperChic Lacquer Ride the Neon Rainbow

This collection is the collaborative brainchild of owner Jennifer and YouTuber JessFACE90, so please go check out her video review of these colors and give her some love if you like this collection! These will be available for purchase today on the SuperChic Lacquer - Wonder Beauty Products Etsy store at 4pm PST for $10 each. What do you think of these Spring shades?

It's a good day to have a good day ;)

SuperChic Lacquer Diamond Heist Collection Swatches & Review

Hey folks! I have a new collection to show you today from SuperChic Lacquer called Diamond Heist. There are five polishes in the bunch, all with an extraordinary addition to the formula--diamond crystals! There are certified to have at least 1 carat weight of genuine diamond crystals in each bottle. They are all textured microglitters in different colors, so let's check them out!

First is Flawless, a white textured microglitter in a clear base with silver shimmer and holographic sparks. The diamond crystals appear a little grey at first glance, especially next to the white, but they're clear like ice. I put one coat over KBShimmer Eyes White Open.
SuperChic Lacquer Flawless

Next is Precious, a bright medium blue textured microglitter in a clear base with silver shimmer and holographic sparks. This is one coat over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (original formula).
SuperChic Lacquer Precious

Here we have Fancy, a pale pink textured microglitter in a clear base with silver shimmer and holographic sparks. Pictured is one coat over Zoya Kennedy.
SuperChic Lacquer Fancy

This is Rarity, a medium red textured microglitter in a clear base with silver shimmer and holographic sparks. I used one coat over OPI Romantically Involved. This is my favorite!
SuperChic Lacquer Rarity

And last is Priceless, a black textured microglitter in a clear base with silver shimmer and holographic sparks. I have put one coat over Cult Nails Nevermore.
SuperChic Lacquer Priceless

These are easy to use despite their dense formula, especially layered like I have shown you here. I most likely wouldn't wear them on their own as a full manicure, it would take probably three to four coats to cover completely without a base color, but maybe as an accent nail. The texture is not as rough as most, which I like. The diamond crystals are fun and give the polish a more complex look. My honest opinion on this collection is that it's probably not for everyone, but I like them and I think they are very unique.

These are more of an expensive purchase than usual for an independent brand, but you are getting a special polish with genuine diamond crystals in it so I understand why. They are available now on SuperChic Lacquer's etsy site for $24 each. Let me know if you would indulge and treat yo self with one of these diamond filled polishes! Which is your favorite?

Thanks for coming by today!
