hope everyone's week is shaping up well ♥I have been contemplating writing this post for a while now, and I can't put it off any longer. I have been blogging for a long time, si...

hope everyone's week is shaping up well ♥

i put some deco flowers on the ring and thumb nails, using a technique i've seen on a few youtube vids (namely julieg713) using opi's DS design.
also i didn't walk around with this but i tried a bow using the same type of technique as the flowers (see it HERE by Naritaz) on my pinky nail using opi's i'm ok, you're bouquet just to see if it would turn out or not. and it looks ok, but it was just for practice, so i thought i'd show ya!

but when i got home i put on a coat of essie's matte about you matte-maker top coat to try it out (new purchase!) and WOW it absolutely transformed this mani for me! idk about you but after it went matte, it went PHAT haha. the topcoat lightened the brown a bit which made the polish suit my coloring much better i think. it also like flattened and blended the polishes all together into a satin-y way and i just absolutely loved it. what do you guys think??

zoya kalista was SOOO gorgeous, a dark rich shimmery brown red (which looks way more red in this picture (sorry, dumb camera!!) that flowed perfectly...on my left hand only. my right hand was a big fat fail for some reason. i redid that hand like 5 times. idk why. but these pics are of my beautifully polished left hand haha, so enjoy. the zoya formula is a little thick but their color range is so pretty pretty i might just forgive them.

hope everyone went and had some fun this weekend. i slept, cleaned, did laundry and went to a few movies. um, i have to do this sorry. i have to plug quentin tarantino's new movie "inglorious basterds". it's just amazing. i don't think many people are into that sort of thing, but if you are a tarantino fan you will love it. i was aMAAAAZED at how good it was. god i wish it was a true story! it was truly written well, and the actors all did their roles ultimate justice. even the "no-name" actors who had smaller parts did so well. i just can't say enough about it. yes, there is gore and death and violence and sadness and misery but there is also humor and vengeance and victory and pride. anyway, au revoir my dear lovelies!
ok so this pic is from 2007 when me and some friends from dental assisting school went to Lagoon theme park in salt lake city, ut for the halloween frightmares nights during october. it was super fun and cold and tons of spooky-tastic-ness. all the great rides are open plus there's mazes and super scary haunted houses and trick or treating for the kiddos and hypnotism shows and dance troupes and lots of other stuff. this is us getting our picture taken with a giant werewolf guy, but the dummy holding the camera cut off his head haha. i'm the hot one in the middle btw ;) haha! it was a lot of fun.

hope you all are having a FAB weekend! i'm feeling a little under the weather *cough*. but i still am going to a few shows, saw "post grad" last night HI-larious. now off to see "inglorious basterds". keep smiling :D

not to try and sneak one past all you smartys, but this mani was also before i encountered the big break of august '09 (a.k.a. my dramatic nail shortening). i'm making a big deal about it because it's the first time one of my nails has broken since i got really into the polish thing back around may. excuse my sensationalism please ;)

the second polish i borrowed from miss m to swatch was lunch at the delhi from opi's india collection. i love me the orangey coral's and this was sooo creamy and sweet :) two coats, could've gotten away with one i swear! ♥ please excuse my wonky ring finger nail, as this is my right hand and it's the finger i lean my pencil against when i write ;)
hope you are all having a terrific tuesday!

also to shake it up a bit, i added some nail art today (second day) inspired by the diva's polish's post who posted because she was inspired by a tutorial she saw on youtube. (check out her blog it's great!) i obviously didn't do the tips but put the stripes and dots on using white kiss brush on nail art paint. i also used color club's crystal glitter art club nail art brush to do stripes in between the white stripes. and i even accomplished the look on my right hand, which i couldn't believe. it's definitely not my usual look, but it was fun to do and that is all that matters yes?
also waiting for me on saturday was a package from mary of body and soul. i won one of the two packs she was giving away in july YAY!! and i was super super super impressed with the gift. can't wait to try these out! :)
hope everyone had a great weekend :) i had fun hanging out with my sister and nephew who came into town for a mini-break. byeeee♥

la la love you ladies! hope you all have a wonderful friday ♥
