essie's second set of polishes they put out this season were called "the summer collection". real creative. guess they ran outta ovaltine over at essie HQ? anyhoo, i was pretty excited about this collection based on the promo pics. the high heel advert and little swatch squares got me shaking in my sandals. however, once i had the little mini bottles of the four shades i was highly coveting of the 6 in the collex, i was kind of left sitting like this:
i got:
pretty edgy,
haute as hello,
knockout pout, and
demure vixen.
demure vixen is by far my favorite, which i wasn't expecting. it's a pale mauvey lilac with a blueish flash/slight duochrome. looks like a creme sort of, but more interesting. sexy. two coats and opaque!

haute as hello looks light peach/orangey in the bottle but turns out slightly neon creamsicle shade when painted on. WEIRD. did not like. wanted to, really really wanted to like. i even wore this as a full mani, but hated the texture and i took it off midday. three coats for evenness, it was thick.

pretty edgy was what i was really excited for in this collection, because DOI it's greeeeeen. 'cept uhhh, it kinda isn't that great. sure it's a nice pigmented green but it didn't do that much for me. it's kind of just there. three coats. sorry, only got a good lamp light photo. not worried about it tho haha.

knockout pout is another one i was happy to purchase, even though it kind of resembled a standard essie pink. it looked so summery and nice! well, it was another weird slightly neon matte color like
haute. wtf is with these?? idk what the hellz is up but i was not pleased. no topcoat on these pics, three coats.

*sigh* i do wish i would've liked this collection more. maybe the orange (
vermillionaire) or light creme (
miss matched) would've been nice, should've tried those? nah, haha.
